Our trip to the beach wouldn't be complete without stopping to see the Golden Retrievers at a small coastal town. I love how their people put this porthole in the fence so they can look out. I just wish I could have wiped their slobber off the glass to make them easier to see. ha.
I thought if you were getting to know Asha it was important you met her sidekick.
Asha arrived at our house about 9 weeks ago.
Although the reason for our new edition was so that Charche would have a mate, I was a little nervous at the fact that his highness would get his nose a little out of joint having someone to contend with. I did a lot of reading and spoke to people with more than one dog so that I could make things as smooth as possible.
I really couldnt have hoped for these 2 to get along any better. There hasnt been one moment that I have had to worry.
They are made for each other.
We needed to make sure the dog we adopted had the same playing style as Charch as he loves to chase, wrestle and play hard. She leaves him in her wake as she is so much faster than him. Not only great for company but she exercises him too!
They also both share their love for chewing sticks (note the slobber on Asha's nose)
They both now sleep in the same bed and Asha licks his ears and face all over each night like a mumma cat cleans her kittens.
They make me so happy to watch their lovely friendship :)
If you want to see more of these 2 together I have a set for them
Having some Valentine's fun.
By the time we were done he had a waterfall of slobber down his chest..LOL!
Such a cute chubby cupid! ( I just didn't think it would be safe for him to have an arrow...LOL)
This is my favorite of Mona's two puppies . The two are pleasant cuties but this is the best to the two.
Whenever this puppy sees me, it jumps for joy as if it hasn't seen me for many months , it happens every
day.She could lick all over my face if I stoop down , it just the way she greets . I love smiling dogs :)
Though I'm squimish of dog slobber.
The idea of bringing Dooby with me home is tempting or merely some wishful thinking . Reality is, I can't take the additional expenses of travel plus at least 6 months under imposed quarantine to foreign dogs and other miscillaneous expenses before I can have the dog at home. It's a big and serious commitment having a dog . Unlike having them in the Philippines under the care of my sister, it cost much less . I already adopted a stray cat , Minkie , I thought that's enough. I didn't plan of having a Cat , it all happened out of sympathy and she's happily living with us.

He is cautious with strangers.
(Here this boxer mix startled him from his ball and he's nervous because she is between him and his protector.)

Just had to take this shot of one of the Laird of Balgonie's deerhounds who couldn't wait to greet his visitors. I'm still recovering from the great big slobbering kiss.
A yett is a kind of door made of interlacing iron bars.
(I heard his last cry.) Six hours later, as if in a trance, I walked into the bushes by the garden shed and there he was, eyes staring blankly, stiff like a stuffed animal. A large slobber mark on his fur where the predator’s mouth had gripped him. His ear was full of blood and his tongue was skewed, displaced to the side of his mouth from the violence of the attack. How lifeless he was. All the vibrant animation gone; sharp contrast to the rapidly swivelling ears and those so-smart eyes that had it all figured out and a new trick to boot. I put a white piece of poly in the wheelbarrow and placed his body on top. We had already started to dig the hole. I couldn’t bear the thought of shovelling the dirt on to his fur. All the accumulated days he had worked keeping it clean; his psychogenic alopecia had made this overkill. I quickly gathered some scrap wood and knocked together a little crate to protect his fur from the indignities of dirt. The scrap wood pieces were a little short so I would have to place him in the little box like he was sitting. My son thought he should have one of his old toys so we quickly found a ’sweater’ mouse to put at his feet. I had to gently push his head down to air nail the last top boards in place. But it was done. We both filled in the hole and stacked some rocks to mark his resting place. It’s all for the best we said to each other. “He was getting old and infirm.” “He won’t have to suffer through aging diseases.” “At least we found his body so we could have closure.” “He had a good life.” A few sobs. All those things to try to salve the pain of departure.
This young, rambunctious Viszla dog was running towards me 100 mph, while on hiking trail. He stopped, circled me and then clamped his jaws down on a dead sapling tree ( lower left ) and proceeded to shake it with slobber flying. Then took off. I was laughing when owners came running up with leash in hand.." Did you see HIM ? "
I just pointed in direction he took off in.
( YES, they did find him : )
Almost deleted image. Obviously my camera settings not synced to the moment. However realized the joy in the blur.
in the battle of labrador vs. apple pie ice cream, the advantage is seriously in favor of the tongue.
Celebrating the free tickets and upgrade to the club car, I arrived early to slobber all over the locomotives. If you have not taken this ride, I would reccommend it. Power down through the canyon was ex B&LE F7 #722 a 1952 graduate of Electro-Motive Division of General Motors sporting 1500 HP from a 567-B 16 cylinder prime mover.
Upper Right: Benni waiting for the flag ceremony, ready to walk.
Lower R.: Benni and Don right behind the horses - there were about 200 dogs walking the trail. I stayed and took owl photos. ;D
Lower L.: Piper, the St. Bernard, lots of slobber and drool but very sweet.
Upper L. Chauncey, 14 years old, and preferred to soak up the sun and be pushed in a stroller.
Question: Shouldn't Chauncey and Piper trade names??
This lady and her dog look like they might want to tear me a new one for taking their picture, last winter. Despite appearances, her dog left the hearty Slobber of Approval on my shoe.
The title's a reference to a classic American coming of age movie, Stand by Me. I rewatched it a few months ago with my youngest, it was spring break and we were at Grandma and Grandpa's :-)
This is Lucy (or Lucy - Lastic) our new rescue dog. Half Cocker and half Labrador so it makes her a Cockador but we don't believe in labels.
Our dogs aren't usually allowed on the furniture but she is so affectionate that this is the designated 'cuddle seat'. Sitting here means you are available for hugs, kisses and slobber and thats just me!
After a long walk today, Boomer couldn't wait to get to the pond for water. He is interested in the birds landing on the bank across the pond. Yesterday he was nose to nose with a turkey and only a fence to separate them. The turkey was inside the garden fence trying to find a route out. Finally he figured out he have to fly to get free. Boomer circled the garden round and round still thinking the bird was in there.
week 36/52 weeks for dogs.

My Mum's dog Chester passed away a couple of days ago rather suddenly after a few days of heart trouble. He had a long life and was much loved by all who crossed his path, both at home and out on walkies. He will be remembered for his excitement at going for a walk, his complete obsession with Bear Bear, and slobbering on your knee while begging for toast at breakfast.
When Rachel and I left for Canada, we never guessed it would be the last time we'd see him.
Bye ChessieBumps.
