The sun slips below Glacier's Boulder Ridge. with a wee window on Lake Sherburne between the fall foliage.
This is some of the beauty one enjoys as you approach the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park.
Happy Friday!
We think about tomorrow then it slips away
We talk about forever but we've only got today
And the days go by
I can feel 'em flying
Like a hand out the window
As the cars go by

Autumn slips in very gently. One day its warm summer then early one morning there's a chill in the air and we know Autumns arrived. We also know this because we get acorns.
Acorns are technically a fruit because they have a seed but they also have hard shells so they're classified as nuts. Perhaps there should be some sort of hybrid term for them?? Dunno!
The light, between it now slips
Inside natures waiting lips
Making her water, shine so bright
With beauty of the light
That dances, softly on her lake
Making the waves rise and break
Between her lips, so moist and tender
That my sun does passionately enter
We rarely stop to think about how our very lives are dependent on the biodiversity of our planet, and even when we do.... we believe it’s someone else’s problem to sort out.....
BUT IT's NOT ! ,

Some fascinating historical information can be found on San Diego’s Embarcadero, right next to Tuna Harbor where many commercial fishing boats dock downtown. The sign, erected by the San Diego Port Commission in 2008, is titled Tuna Fleet Service World War II (1941-1945). It provides a glimpse of how dozens of San Diego-based Tuna Clippers joined the American war effort during the Second World War.
Here is the text on the sign:
During World War II, 600 fishing vessels were taken by the Navy, Army, and Coast Guard, including 52 “Tuna Clippers”.
On Pearl Harbor Day, the U.S. canned tuna industry was located almost exclusively in Southern California, and canners received most of their tunas from “baitboats”. Fishermen on these boats chum live bait (sardines, anchovies) to attract the tunas into a feeding frenzy and then use rigged bamboo poles to pull the hooked tunas aboard. Dating from 1924, a fleet of large “baitboats” was developed and became know as “Tuna Clippers”. These large ships, equipped with powerful diesel engines and newly developed brine refrigeration, fished for tunas found migrating thousands of miles from San Diego on trips of 90 days or more. During the 1930s, this San Diego high seas fleet was studied by the U.S. Navy, resulting in wartime plans that included the conversion of Tuna Clippers to minesweepers.
Hold my hand, kiss my lips
Come with me, until love it slips
Down the path, below and up
Where i'll drink from your cup
That i taste, under the trees
Where i kneel down at your knees
Your hand on my hair, as love it slips
Between beauty of your lips
As the tree .it does grow
As the breeze it does sow
As my feet , they do walk
Past the birds, who sing and talk
I see a beauty, far away
I see her walk, along the way
I feel her kiss, my waiting lips
Then away into the distance, she beautifully slips
Shining deep, shining wide
Memories shine, deep inside
Memories of love, that will never end
Memories of kisses , that i send
Across the water to the lips
That do open, as love it slips
Inside a heart, inside the thighs
Of the beauty, that fills my eyes

How quickly time slips through our fingers, like water we can never catch it!
Looking to catch time's elusive nature I merged and layered several shots together here ... to capture the feeling.
Not sure about the result 🤔😉

I can remember when the San Leandro Marina was booming. You couldn't find an empty slip. They even added a bunch of new docks on the other side of the harbor.
I have some great memories of this place. Fishing, parties, picnics and just sitting out there watching planes land at Oakland International, just across the inlet.
Sadly, it's now mostly empty, and probably soon to be gone. San Leandro does have plans for the site, but I don't think it will include berthing slips for boats.
Tree of the lake, i see you rise
Spreading wildly across the skies
With the waters of life around your roots
I wait to gather your forbidden fruits
That will fall before my eyes
To grow wildly between the thighs
Of sweet nature, her branches spread
Open wide, ensuring i am fed
With forbidden beauty, that flows and slips
Before my eyes and over my lips
Yet slips away from us?
Who dares to love forever
Oh, when love must die?
Who wants to live forever?
Was ist das, was uns träumen lässt,
und uns doch immer wieder entgleitet?
Wer wagt es ewig zu lieben,
Wenn die Liebe sterben muss?
Wer will schon ewig leben?

As Summer into Autumn slips
And yet we sooner say
"The Summer" than "the Autumn," lest
We turn the sun away,
And almost count it an Affront
The presence to concede
Of one however lovely, not
The one that we have loved --
So we evade the charge of Years
On one attempting shy
The Circumvention of the Shaft
Of Life's Declivity.

As the sun slips below the horizon, this slightly wind-blown red-tailed hawk scans the prairie for a careless prairie dog to feast on as a late-day snack.
A soft caress of the lips
Between the softness, mouth now slips
Across the water to the other side
On loves waves, a tongue does ride
Sinking in the glory, very deep
Waking passion, that was asleep
Between the soft, sweet , waiting lips
Where a mouth, it slowly slips

Autumn quietly slips into the land, as the air turns crisp and fresh. Outside, the sunflowers sway in the wind, their heads heavy from summer, yet they remain steadfast, braving the chillier breezes.
The leaves on the trees transform into warm hues vivid reds, golden yellows, and soft oranges like nature itself is laying a blanket over the earth.
Indoors, wrapped in cozy blankets, candlelight flickers gently. The family gathers around the fireplace, the warmth radiating, and there’s nothing better than sharing stories or simply gazing at the dancing flames. Steaming cups of tea or hot chocolate warm their hands, while the wind sings outside.
It’s a time of closeness, of comfort, where the rush of everyday life is forgotten. Autumnal harmony, where moments are savored, and love fills the air.

**My heart, my words. Please respect them.**
Dear reader,
These words you are reading right now, whether it's a poem, a short story, or a thought is a piece of my soul. I write with passion, each word flowing from my heart, deeply connected to me. My poems are not just words, they are alive, carrying my emotions and essence within them.
If you plan to take them without my permission, know this: you are also taking a piece of my soul. And with every stolen word, I will always be present within the lines you use.
So be mindful… You never know what lies hidden between the lines, for words hold a power that goes far beyond the visible.💫
Summer slips by so quickly in Alaska. Our day is shorter by 4 minutes and 43 seconds as of today, tomorrow we will lose another 7 seconds - and so it will continue until December 21st. In one short month we will be reaching for a jacket before heading outdoors in the morning. Last night our temperature dipped down to 48 degrees Fahrenheit, and I snuggled down under a light fleece blanket and slept like a log. I am so glad the heatwave is over, and that we are back to more normal temperature's - but I will remember the nice warm day I spent on the edge of Chilkoot Lake, as a merganser preened his-self on the dock.
Well another discarded yellow shot even though cow slips are always a lovely sight reminding me of many many years ago .
Norfolk Southern's 110 slips under Interstate 64 at the west end of the Poplar Street Bridge and turns up the TRRA High Line, headed for Luther Yard in North St. Louis. This westbound train for Kansas City is executing the standard detour move while TRRA replaces the 2nd of three spans on the Merchants bridge, the more typical routing for this train.
After rolling into the St. Louis area on the NS Southern-West District, the train got a UP pilot outside Gateway yard for the trip over the Mississippi river on the MacArthur bridge. Once at 12th Street Yard in downtown St. Louis, the power flipped ends before executing the move you see here. These detours should last a couple more days while crews finish connecting up the new bridge span. Then, one more span to build and install, probably in six months or so.
The line to the left runs down into UP's Lesperance Street yard. Taken from Arch grounds.
