Those buttes are huge. I have walked all around each one of them in the past and they are super impressive. The rock formations are younger than the cave hills. These are from the oligocene at 20-40 million years, the same period as my badlands and you can find the same fossil plants and animals here if you go look.

After a while, we got another dog from the pound and named him Atticus. He and Slim got along great, right from their first introduction. Atticus was a great dog too, but like Benny, he wasn't with us for long. He had a knack for escaping the yard, and one day he was found dead in a neighbor's yard. Our Nashville vet said he probably had a heart attack, but I think that may have been a nice explanation and that he was poisoned. But we'll never know.
He and Slim had a lot of fun. Atticus is buried in our former yard in Nashville.
