Another of the attractions of the fun fair in Piccadilly Gardens was this slide, which looked quite cool to go down at night.
Found unbranded and undated slide showing a seafront. Clearly from the same batch as Found Slide - 1210. Google Image Search thinks it is Sliema, Malta.
The slide on which we spent some amusing time at school. That is me trying to slide, but failed because of my size now.
Found Kodachrome slide dated July 1977 showing a narrow street. Could this be Dunster (North Somerset)?

These slides were taken by my father during his tour of duty in the Vietnam war. I am not sure where or what year. The titles show when the slides were processed and I believe the date to be accurate since he sent home slides regularly.

Lenni in super fast slide. He makes 2 meters backwards in the sandbox. Me (in fear?) not able to pan the cam properly. ;-)
When this place was a children's ward, the slide was the quickest way to get them out in case of a fire.
The sliding sands trail descending into the Haleakala Crater, on the island of Maui. You can see some tiny people walking down the trail if you look closely, or view larger.
You can also see the Big Island of Hawaii in the distance.

Every year during the holidays the staircase in the Sunburst Atrium is transformed into a full-story Yule Slide. Children and families enjoy the thrill of a ride down the curving, slide, experiencing all the fun of sledding with none of the freezing fingers or soggy socks!
The Devil's Slide in California is a promontory with a steep, collapsing slope just South of Pacifica. Here, the Cretaceous granite of Montara Mountain pushed against the Paleocene mudstone, a mix of marine shale, sandstone and conglomerate, of the San Mateo Coast. Though the fault is now inactive, the mudstone has for decades been collapsing into the Pacific. For years, HWY 1 ran through here, and the area had an sinister reputation of accidents and landslides that would close HWY1 and cut off Pacifica to the South (locals apparently dubbed themselves "the World's longest cul-de-sac"). However after the recent Caltrans project, the area has been sealed off from cars, and made into a hiking trail, though whether the area continues collapsing remains to be seen.

Chorus:
Slip sliding away, slip sliding away
You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away...
Whoah and I know a man, he came from my hometown,
He wore his passion for his woman like a thorny crown.
He said, "Dolores, I live in fear;
My love for you’s so overpowering, I’m afraid that I will disappear."
Chorus
I know a woman, (who) became a wife;
These are the very words she uses to describe her life///
She said, "A good day ain’t got no rain."
She said, "A bad day is when I lie in the bed,
and I think of things that might have been."
Chorus
And I know a father who had a son.
He longed to tell him all the reasons, for the things he’d done.
He came a long way just to explain.
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping.
Then he turned around and he headed home again.
Chorus
Whoah! God only knows, God makes his plan.
The information’s unavailable, to the mortal man.
We’re workin’ our jobs, collect our pay.
Believe we’re gliding down the highway, when in fact we’re slip sliding away.
Chorus repeats {twice)
