Eureka Tower on a stormy overcast day, framed nicely by two trees at the Melbourne Botanic gardens.
If you look closely towards the top, you will see a cube that slides out of the 88th floor, allowing visitors to see the most amazing view of Melbourne city. The cube is glass on all sides, including the floor!!
Here's some info on it:

Saturday 13th of September, 2003 - A few miles further on down Highway 89, we came across this, lovingly known as "The Devils Slide", an enormous and not quite vertical cliff of sandstone and shale, which has bizzarely formed this narrow and very slippery slope in the rock.
I wish I'd been paying more attention to what the sign said about it and how it was formed and all that, as I can't remember now what the importance of it was, and seemingly neither can anyone else, as there's absolutely nothing about it on the internet either other than to say it's a cliff! BNP has been working to develop an FMP for over ten years. In 2000, BNP began development of both an FMP and a new GMP. FMP development began with BNP staff asking the FWC to actively participate in and collaborate on the plan. This was done in recognition that, because of overlapping authority to regulate fishing, BNP and FWC should work together on fishery resource management by jointly developing a plan and subsequent regulations. An MOU was approved by both agencies in 2002, and included shared goals to work cooperatively on fishery management programs for the park. A working group was convened, which held a series of meetings to develop recommendations for the FMP, along with the collection of public comments from 2002-2004. Staff briefed the Commission on the status of the FMP following the release of the working group recommendations, and again periodically between that time and today. The MOU was renewed for another five years in September 2007.
In 2008, BNP developed a series of alternatives for public consideration and comment. BNP and FWC staff then decided on a preferred alternative for the FMP that will be discussed in subsequent slides. The draft FMP was then released in 2008. BNP held public workshops in July of 2009. In August 2010, FWC sent a letter from Chairman Baretto to then Superintedent Mark Lewis confirming the Commission’s intent to initiate rulemaking following the approval of the FMP. Staff brought additional updates to the Commission in November 2011, May 2012, and June 2012. In October 2012, the FWC and BNP renewed the existing MOU for an additional two years, continuing it through October 2014.
Found Fujichrome slide dated December 1990 showing two women looking backwards at the camera. The one nearer the camera has some serious 1970s-style "Deirdre Barlow" glasses.
Slide from a set used to teach biology at Belleville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School, Belleville, Ontario, possibly in the 1920s. The original boxes were labelled 'Junior' and 'Senior', but the contents appear to have been mixed up.
Donated to the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County by Mike and Sue Mills in October 2015.
Found Agfacolor slide, another in the "School Trip to Charterhouse" set. In this shot they appear to have finally perfected the triple-handstand.

yes the Council decided to put sliding doors on these houses but forgot to take the old ones off first - the Postman never knows if its a real letterbox or just a void between a door & the wall - a lot of residents are still waiting for small food parcels because they can't get out
thanks for looking - have a great day
Yesterday at Goodwill I bought 20 years of someone’s life, in slides. I don’t have a slide scanner at my disposal, but I intend on finding one and scanning all of them. I spent a long time looking through them. They were clearly mostly taken by the father in the family, I’m assuming. There were vacations, trips to the circus, daughters’ proms, present opening on Christmas, and amazing portraits of his wife, spanning the late 50’s to the mid 70’s.
Found Fujichrome slide July 1993 labelled “Kuursaal, Haapsalu”, found in a box labelled “Estonia”. Haapsalu is a seaside resort in Estonia and Google translate from Estonia to English translates “Kuursaal” as “course hall”, which isn’t very helpful - however Kuursaal in Dutch/Flemish translates as “Casino”, which might be nearer the mark.
Found Kodachrome slide dated August 1983 showing (according to Google Image Search) Durham Cathedral.
But look at the two women middle-distance right of shot. Isn't that the girl with the big hair and her mother again?
Found Fujifilm slide. Last picture of the baby, I promise, but I included this one because the TV is visible and gives an indication of the period.
In with this batch of found slides were approximately another twenty of various people with the baby which are too repetitive to upload, but it brings me to the question I have asked many times previously - somebody cared enough about this family that they shot an entire roll of slide film with pictures of the baby with various family members. How sad it is that no-one cares about them now and the pictures have ended up as a job lot in a charity shop.
