Autumn colors come late to the Sandhills, but when they arrive, the landscape comes alive with various shades of red and gold. Sliders help convey the magic of the low angle sun through the bright foliage. HSS
Move over Michael Jackson, here comes the Bald Eagle showing how to do it better. The eagle was eating away a dead carp fish (earlier picture) when it decided to jump off and slide on the ice float of the frozen Otonabee river. May be he needed a bit of stretching. This photo is made from two consecutive shots and stitched together in Photoshop. A little later the Eagle tried to walk back to the fish and found it hard to do. So he took the short cut, flew back on the fish to resume his eating. Such a fun to watch and photograph this magnificent bird. Initially there was a female eagle eating away the fish and this male was waiting patiently on a tree nearby for her to leave. When she eventually did this male descended on the fish and worked on it for an hour.
is how it felt at the Salmon Street Springs, Portland, Oregon on this late Spring afternoon. As the sun slid into the West, shade from the building across the street made a beautiful dark backdrop for the fountain; which is what thought I had photographed until a couple of days later when I downloaded the image and found two children wonderfully at play in the fountain... i4s12471 - Happy Sliders Sunday!
An overlay for today, grasses underneath with a Red Admiral Butterfly on top.
Not that sure that this has worked that well. I haven't done an overlay for years.

This is a shot of the perpetual slide that has been happening for many years, sending large amounts of earth into Trout Creek, making it constantly muddy.

The other night waiting for the Emerald Isle to come in we couldn't see it out but a short distance from the pier it appeared. The smoke is like a fogbank on Lake MI.
Done in iPiccy and finished off in PhotoScape.

Silver and gold stainless steel sliding gate with graceful designs. Seen in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
Unlike Australia, almost every house in Malaysia has a secure gate and barred windows. Mind you, my family never experienced any breakins, but I guess that was due to the precautions taken by my parents.
a young group of dancers entertained at the 27th Anniversary of the Day Worker Center of Mountain View. I've had a longtime connection with the Center, and have made a couple of videos about the Day Workers' lives. Happy Sliders Sunday!
We're getting to that inevitable slide into spring and there's more and more earth revealing itself from beneath the snow. At a local beach, some exposed sandy parts are being blown around by the wind and make for some interesting shapes and curves. Here I took some liberties with the sliders in LR to enhance those features a bit for "slider sunday."
