Winston Churchill said:
"democracy is the worst form of government imaginable, until you try to imagine another"
Does this signify a failure of our politics or a failure of our imagination? Has anyone recently tried to think of new ways of making group decisions and actually testing them out in real situations? This is what The People Speak will be attempting with "The Slice is Right?" - in the very serious quest, not for the perfect pizza, but for the pizza that pleases all the people all of the time. People will be queuing up for pizza and as they reach a full complement of 6 they will draw a random card from the deck that tells them how they will decide how to make their pizza. What happens when one person takes full control? What happens when everybody does their own thing? Is there an ideal way for people to organise when it comes to deciding what goes on your pizza. And who gets the biggest slice? It's going to be somewhere between "The Great British Bake Off" and a utopian vision of future pizza!
This pig will serve a few dozens within an hour. Ibu Oka typically sets up shop for no more than 4 hours a day, by which it completely sells out - a day's worth of about 5 pigs.
