I still have my first journal, a red diary given to me in 3rd grade. I took to it right away, as my childish penmanship shows, and soon I established a ritual that has become more and more important to me. For much of my life, I have written in a journal each morning. I can't seem to get going without my journal time. Now I have bins of them, and I don't know what to do with them all. Keep them? Have a bon fire? This shot is of a stack piled on top of three bins worth.....I can't walk by without gazing with affection at paper and spirals that carried me through so many mornings.
