Slices were avaliable, but we ordered a whole pizza baked fresh while we waited. DeMarco's Pizzeria on Houston Street. (Pronounced HOW-ston, by the way. This isn't Texas.)
A sore back, two blisters and about 50 slices of wood; not bad for an hour's work. All cut by hand with a bow saw too. DS2 had cut me about 100 a month ago with his chain saw, but unfortunately these all are now sporting a growth of black mould from being stored in the damp conditions in the Ranger tent. I'm going to dry these *thoroughly* before taking them to work and will store them in my caravan,
I use these at children's art and craft sessions to make wood badges or room name plates. I'll drill holes in them and the children like to decorate them with marker pens and thread a string through the hole.
It's a nice wee activity to do while they are waiting for the paint to dry when they are painting pebbles.

One of the great things about baking bread is that unlike other baked goods, you pretty much don't have to wait for it to cool at all. Slice it up and put delicious stuff on it and eat it.
To keep it, wrap the loaves up tight in plastic bags or aluminum foil. Homemade bread, especially bread like this with some fat in it, will keep well up to a week... and then just as it's starting to go stale (if you have any left!), it'll be the weekend again, and you can make French toast or bread pudding or croutons.

'Slice of Reality' by Richard Wilson, situated on the River Thames near the O2. This also serves as his office. It was orginally a 600 tonne sand dredging ship called Arco Tent which was cut down to just 15% of its original 160ft length. The ship was built by Appledore Shipbuilders in Devon in 1971 and scrapped at Middlesborough in 1999.

Kona abalone: part of a salad, which was very yummy.
The whole shell is approx. 3" x 2" - this is just part of it.
