What would be landscape photography without the "magic" that happens every day when the sun is low on the horizon?

The light becomes more beautiful, rich in colors, while geometries take shape and volume and a thousand shades of levels and depths appear... so, what would be photography without these priceless moments? Even more, what would be the very essence of visiting the mountains without these moments of grace?...

Fence Friday

Considering Ithaca is in a valley a lot of the streets are very steep so they have to adapt the fences to fit the slant of the sidewalks.

Some 8-9 miles up from the confluence, the Paria River wanders within an increasingly broad valley as it slants its way downward to join the Colorado River, Paria Wilderness, Arizona. Here, a band of Wingate(?) sandstone catches fire in the late day light, and a glint of evening cloud is reflected in the river's surface. The last spring is several miles upstream, and from that point onward, one either attempts to filter and drink the silty river, or one carries as much as possible on one's back. We opted for the latter, and hoped we would not need to engage in the former.

It was around this time that both boys removed most of their clothing and began assiduously covering themselves in sand and mud as they leaped and splashed after the many toads that came out to trill in the evening cool. We saw quite a few Great Blue Herons over the previous days, and I wonder what portion of their diet is toad-based this time of year. We also observed crows hopping in puddles formed by the shallow river as they pursued tadpoles. From what I can ascertain, the species of toads most likely to be found in this drainage do not produce bufotoxin, and may therefore constitute a significant annual pulse of protein through the food-chain.

this one was not easy. if you know the spot you understand. excuses excuses.... the wonkeyness is ridiculous, still throwing it up.

I have been shooting sunset for the last 2 days. The sunset were not that good. There was some low clouds to make the blue hour tone not that clear.

連續兩天衝夕陽,可惜冬季慣常出現的低層雲,讓色溫時間不是很清透,大家加減看看囉!

Love the design of this building; the slanted roof, the irregular bricks just above the windows, the windows that span most of the wall, everything. Nikkormat FTn, Adox KB14 (expired April 1964, so more than 60 years old), Rodinal 1:50.
