Took my new lens for a walk this morning at Santee Lakes. In order to fit more of the bird in the frame I tilted the camera.

Located beside Hwy 31E, Hart County,Ky. Barns of this kind,are found mainly in Barren County,Ky. and counties that are adjoining.I asked many people why so built, before I found out. In the 1920,s in response to the collapse of the "Dark Tobacco" prices, the County Agent in Barren Co. persuaded many farmers to turn to Dairying.The barns rise vertically 3 to 5 Feet,slant out and upward at a 30 degree angle for a few feet,then return to the vertical 5 to 8 feet off of the ground.The slanted side forms a feed trough,into which hay could be easily forked into from loft.

On Sunday, April 16 at 6 pm the 1st Amendment Society hosted a live performance by The Slants,
a Portland-based all-Asian American dance-rock band, that is currently awaiting a Supreme Court
ruling over a request to trademark their name, which was originally denied by the United States
Patent and Trademark Office.
The Slants have formed an identity “to take on stereotypes that people have about us, like slanted eyes,
and own them.” Embracing and owning a slur as a form of empowerment is their fundamental right,
and should not be denied by self-appointed bureaucrats. Denial of a trademark registration has serious
consequences for artists, just as banning the sale of a beer greatly affects a small, independent
