Sometimes I see potential in a photo for these effects. Sometimes I just go willy nilly and see what happens. Sometimes I just put the photo in the trash and start over.
This is done using a layer mask and blur effect in Photoshop Elements.

Covid situation getting worse..our whole state of Victoria is in lockdown now due to the spread of the delta variant to the regional areas. Too many infectious cases not in isolation in the community and too many mystery cases that cannot be linked to known clusters is making it very hard to control the spread.
Today is day 202 of lockdown for us in Melbourne since the start of the pandemic.
Still we are better off than the poor souls who are trying to flee Afghanistan !

One day, while at the inauguration of a photographic exhibition, I was going out to take the air, a blind person crossed in front of the gallery. At that moment I became aware of something very obvious: blind people cannot see photographs. For several years, I created several collections that were called "Photographs to see and touch." This is one of them. With a cutter, I scratched the emulsion on the outline of the objects that made up the photograph, as if drawing on it, creating small scratched lines that formed a relief. In this way the photograph could be looked at, but it was also possible to touch it with the fingers and feel the reliefs of the drawing. Over time I started to use metallic photographic paper, a high quality paper in the image, but that scratches very easily. I discovered that if the photograph was scratched with the cutter, with a very sharp point and very delicately, you could get stripes of different colors by tearing the three color layers of the emulsion. With Fuji Professional Lux Color Metallic Photo Paper, stripes, oranges, reds, yellows and browns colors were obtained. On the contrary, with Fuji Professional Lux Chrome Metallic Photo Paper, blue, cyan, violet and greenish colors were obtained. To get the white stripes... easy... I scratched harder, piercing the emulsion and showing the base paper of the photo, in this case, metallic paper. Subsequently, I used photographic anilines to color and intensify the colors obtained. For this photo I used Fuji Velvia 50 Professional color reversal film and Fuji Professional Lux Color metallic paper. Scan: Epson Perfection V-700 Photo.

Many people know the monastery of St. Sergius of Radonezh as the spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy and a collection of remarkable architectural monuments. But not everyone knows how important he played in the sharp turns of Russian history. And it’s hard to say in which country and how we would live today, if not for this monastery.
St. Sergius taught people primarily love and forgiveness. He himself set an example of humility in the most difficult situations.
Thousands of pilgrims come to the Lavra daily. There are 11 temples in the monastery.
Trinity Church is not the largest in the architectural ensemble of the Lavra, but it is here that the majority of those who came to the monastery are in a hurry. The whole time the temple is open for people to visit, the flow of people going into it does not stop: pilgrims hurry to bow to the relics of the founder of the monastery, St. Sergius.

A woman walked down to the shore of the green space with her dog, off leash. The dog proceeded to run out after this egret, causing it to relocate. She tried calling it back, but it would have nothing to do with her. She needs to use that leash, as required by law!!! First comment is moments before, as the dog charges...

There’s a male Phainopepla living in my yard—shiny black, crest slicked back, and convinced he’s the main character. He zooms around the firethorn bush like he owns it (because he does), flashing feathers and singing the same song over and over. Field guides say they mimic other birds—mine doesn’t. He has standards.
Then came the female, elegant, gray, mysterious. They’re clearly nesting, though I’ve never looked. Why? Because I’m not a nest-peeping weirdo. Some things are better left private, especially when your yard is hosting the goth power couple of the desert.

He gleams like obsidian, sings with control
And treats my backyard like it’s rock & roll.

(The first time I heard the word Phainopepla, I thought it sounded like a Scandinavian shampoo, or maybe a Mediterranean side dish that costs $14 and comes with exactly one olive. According to science, it’s pronounced fay-no-PEP-la, but let’s be honest: even the bird doesn’t know how to say it.)
perhaps this is one of my favorite situations of my work, when a hundred years of life in one click of the camera shutter.
The story develops by itself, it remains only to silently smoke outside the edge of the frame ..

They are bound, the old rock, and the old woman. Bound in this desert for a century. Soon the woman will leave, and the eagles nesting on this rock will peck at her body in the desert among these stones, as her mother and father too..
In the corral behind the yurt, a small white kid is closed.. he always wants to run... And a little boy, great-grandson, constantly runs away from the old woman to him too,
He is dressed in the clothes of a small girl - Spirits should not know for the time being..

While they come in all varieties of somewhat freaky-looking spiders, orb weavers--like our famous friend from 'Charlotte's Web'--are considered harmless to people. The only way one is likely to cross you is by building a web you don't see before accidentally walking through it! And the Spiny Orbweaver (Gasteracantha cancriformis) takes the extra step of putting tufts of silk out on its webs to help us spot them. After all, a lot of work goes into these constructions, the last thing they need is for us to come loping--or birds to go flying--through them.
