Lovely cool Autumn day to be sitting outside. I happen to love the cooler weather.
Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday
I visited the Canadian Raptor Conservancy (CRC) for the 3rd time last weekend and got to practice shooting birds in flight (something I have never mastered before)! Such a treat to visit these well kept raptors.
Thanks for all the faves and kind comments!
RKO_8982. Just a common buzzard sitting on a pole. Very shy but just within reach for a photo.

Took this while babysitting yesterday right out my daughter's front door~ It was so brilliantly golden..it was snowing, so there's snow dispersed throughout the darker clouds making them look hazy! Busy week end, not much to offer, but I wanted to post something! Happy Sunday!
Kavallerie-Regiment unter Oberstleutnant George A. Custer am Little Big Horn vernichtend schlugen. Dies und der Tod Custers war die größte Niederlage der US-Armee während der Indianerkriege.

The Lough Erne female Kingfisher searching the waters below for a fishy snack - great to be able to see these beautiful birds locally
When I passed this spot in my home town Saarbrücken, I noticed this man sitting on a bench there. I like the straigth body posture and his natural dignity. He seems to have all the time he needs without rushing through his life. However, it is clear that he is living in poverty and will not be able to afford many things that are "normal" to others. I wanted to capture him exactly in this situation - the Summilux-R 1:1.4/80 lens provides the soft image impression needed to carry the emotion of this situation.

My bird identification skills are slowly improving, however although I did believe that this is a Whitethroat I am now advised that this is a rarer Reed Warbler. Thank you for putting me right Robin M’s.
Assuming that this is a whitethroat I am surprised that I don't readily recognise it. It is a common migration bird but in my defence it tends ti live in amongst reeds and the bushes that a surround them. I have only just started to explore such landscapes. Photo taken on the edge of some reed beds at St Aidans the other day.
Little squirrel posed so sweetly sitting upright with hands together doing its best to get our attention in hopes for a little nibble
Happy Sunday!
Happy Holidays stay safe be blessed!
Another bench from this visit a couple of weeks back. I was at this site again last weekend, and all trace of color was gone. Emmeneger Park, Kirkwood, MO
This kestrel was content to pose for me for quite a while. Taken at Antelope Island, Utah, during Thanksgiving break.
It is close to impossible to take action shots of Tofu. He constantly in energy saving mode and can sit still like this for an eternity without moving a muscle and even without blinking.
I just crave sitting outside by a warm fireplace, listening to the shore waves and having a drink... a perfect SL time for me, really :)

A new male ruby-throat in the garden this morning, looking a little worn but aggressively defending one of the feeders. The pine cone is the size of a (very) small chicken egg
This hare was sitting out in full view this afternoon. It seemed to be enjoying the sunshine after the recent atrocious weather.
What started as a work trip to London and spending a couple of evenings with Foxes has turned into a bit of a project. This female is a beauty and such an experience to watch. I've met her about 5 times now and, I think, she's getting more used to me.

I see this fox hunting on my way to observe a badger burrow. Luckily i was hidden behind the edge of the forest and i could photograph it without disturbing it. I noticed while zooming in on the photo that it was a mother vixen with her depilated breasts.
