So, take a leaf from this poor old fellow and take it all in your stride!
This big tortoise that I spotted, was taking it very easy in his strides and reminds me, of a British television sitcom called: One Foot in the Grave!
This was a BBC comedy series: Which the series features the exploits, mishaps and misadventures of irascible early retiree Victor Meldrew, who, after being made redundant from his job as a security guard at the age of 60, finds himself at war with the world and everything in it.
Many thanks for your snazzy comments from you here, my good flickr friends !!!
Apologies for the plethora of lighthouse and Stanlow images atm.
Not long after visiting Penmon recently I heard 'Love and Marriage' or more specifically the theme tune to the 80's American sitcom of the same name on YouTube. How the algorithm decided I wanted to watch it directly after watching a Gary Gough vlog I've no idea.
The line 'You can't have one without the other,' has been my unwanted earworm for several days and that for some reason made me think of lighthouse long exposures.
So to try and shift this earworm here is the second LE of the three lighthouses I visit fairly regularly.
Guess that means a Talacre long exposure next if this damn thing doesn't shift soon.
And if I've passed it on as an earworm then I'm so so sorry!

That grain elevator (now destroyed by fire) was sometimes seen in the background of the TV sitcom "Corner Gas".
Apologies for the poor title.
A day of celeb spotting yesterday. I took the dog for a walk around the marine lake at West Kirby earlier in the day and saw the now barrel chested former England and Liverpool footballer John Barnes walking up Telegraph Road in Heswall with a newspaper under his arm and a bag of goodies from the Shell garage.
I popped in to the butchers for a piece of sirloin after the dog walk and found myself stood next to Paul Brown who played 'Malcolm,' in the seminal late eighties/early nineties sitcom Watching. He was having the butcher coat some lamb leg steaks in minty sauce.
And finally Neil Fitzmaurice of Phoenix Nights and Peep Show fame sitting on the steps to the beach at Caldy watching the sunset.

Dad's Army is a 2016 British war comedy film, based on the BBC television sitcom Dad's Army, which was based on the British Home Guard during the Second World.
The Black Country Living Museum’s 1940s weekend, welcome all Visitors, to take a step back in time and immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of wartime Britain – with vintage vehicles, 1940s civilians, army personnel, iconic warplanes, the sound of air sirens filling the streets and a flypast from a Lancaster Bomber.
The characters that one can find around here; love to act out and dress up, to entertain you. Where you can just walk up to them and have a good chit-chat and then they willingly oblige you for having their photo taken!
Just love this place for its cool atmosphere and the golden opportunities of some cool candid photography,
of all sorts here!
Many thanks here, for your cool comments, my Flickr friends!

"This store was the Food Market often seen in the background while (Corner Gas) show characters were filmed in town. The actual use of the building was as an orthotic and prosthetic manufacturing facility.
On Sunday Sept. 28, 2014 the building caught fire and despite firefighters efforts was completely destroyed. The fire was not deemed suspicious."
No, this is not the title of a new television sitcom, but rather the name of the ducks that arrive very late in the year on their migration from breeding grounds in Alaska and Canada to unfrozen waters. The smallest of the North American diving ducks, their stay is brief...only a few weeks until the lake freezes over. This stylized photo of a segment of the flock was taken from my deck two days ago on the last day of open water. (Original in comments) I was pleased to count upwards of 50 specimens this year after a number of consecutive years of diminished numbers.
Fascinating to watch, they function almost as a single unit, their movement and diving highly synchronized. Skittish, upon approach in the canoe, they emerge from the water as one and fly just over the surface to a less bothersome section of the lake, free of such annoyances. Another of the now expected and eagerly anticipated annual events, this delightful species has been gracing these waters for a very long time, fossils dating back 500,000 years having been found.

For those of you who live or may have lived in The Great White North between the 60s to the 80s you've heard this song and may know it by heart.
Now this road is about as far away from Canada as you can get but for some reason it brought The Littlest Hobo to mind for me. I've never lived there, I know about The Littlest Hobo from an episode (Season 3, The Littlest Yarbo) of a great Canadian sitcom called Corner Gas:

The subject matter doesn't (or shouldn't!) need any explanation other than these are some of my partner's hobby tools.
The title is a direct take from the 70s sitcom featuring one of the best characters of all time - Arnold. That said I have no idea if it has stood the test of time, but he certainly was an odd one!

For lovers of the long running British sitcom, Last of the Summer Wine, these are the steps alongside Sid's Café that features strongly throughout the series.
The series has been officially declared the world's longest-running television sitcom, airing continuously between Wednesday 4th January 1973 to Sunday 29th August 2010. Peter Sallis was the sole cast member to appear (as Norman Clegg) throughout the whole 31 seasons.
A young girl watching TV, aware of the photographer but ignoring him (there are more important things to focus on - such as a Brazilian sitcom). Also, this is not the only photo I took on this occasion. It's the price to pay when she comes to our home. This version of the close-up was done manually. It is better in my view than the one taken with AF and face and eye recognition. These are fantastic tools, but they can only recognise faces and eyes, not expressions and looks. And there is so much to look at.

The Fawlty Towers Motel in Cocoa Beach, Florida, is a quirky, budget-friendly stay with a tropical vibe. Located at 100 E Cocoa Beach Cswy, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931, it offers a 32-room, two-story property that encloses a lush garden surrounding a pool with an authentic Tiki Bar.
Guests can enjoy free parking, WiFi, an outdoor pool, and pet-friendly accommodations. The motel has a relaxing balcony setup, with some rooms offering partial ocean views or poolside retreats. It’s known for its laid-back atmosphere, making it a tranquil oasis at affordable prices.
One unique aspect is that it has been designated a clothing-optional hotel, which may appeal to guests looking for a different kind of experience.
Now i did not know that when i was peering thru the bars taking pictures #haha
The Fawlty Towers Motel in Cocoa Beach has been around for quite some time, offering a quirky and budget-friendly stay. It was originally opened about 18 years ago, with proprietors Paul and Terri running the place in its early days. Over the years, it has maintained its laid-back, tropical atmosphere, with a Tiki Bar and poolside retreat that make it a unique spot for travelers.
The motel’s name is a nod to the famous British sitcom Fawlty Towers, though it doesn’t have any direct connection to the show. Instead, it embraces a fun, casual vibe, attracting guests looking for an affordable and relaxed stay near Cocoa Beach’s attractions.
Since Lady B. (Eastern Bluebird) was requesting extra space and privacy for nest building yesterday; this is the one shot I managed to get while out with the camera. I had to go out and refill the feeding stations, otherwise I would have stayed out of her way altogether. Boy oh boy, Lady B can be a cranky beauty when she wants to.
As you can see Mr. C (Male Northern Cardinal) was very pleased when I placed peanuts on the palm stump. The old stump was removed but it was time to remove another palm that was interfering with the growth of oak one, so now I have a new palm stump to use as a feeding station.
One might belive that Mr. and Mrs. C. stands for male and female cardinal. Truly, that's a pretty good hypothesis. However, in my yard the cardinals were named after Howard and Marion Cunningham, from the TV sitcom Happy Days. The Fonz, also a character on the show, nicknamed the Cunningham's Mr. and Mrs. C. I'm not sure why, but the female cardinal reminds me of Marion's character. Therefore, I began calling her by that name and Howard received his name because he goes with her.
I hope your experiences today are pleasant. Happy snapping :)

Ken & I are celebrating 20 glorious years together today! How fast the time has gone! Today has NOT been what either of us hoped for- so many things gone to chaos that it could be a sitcom episode! But love DOES conquer all!!

Coffee at Eleven, Elizabeth? Is a line from a famous British sitcom - Keeping up appearances.
It wasn't actually eleven when I made this but late afternoon. I had the unexpected pleasure of looking after my grandson this afternoon. Needless to say I was too busy to get a photo until he had left and I decided to relax for a few minutes with a coffee...two birds with one stone. Looking after a toddler is exhausting work but great fun.

This is the film set of the popular Canadian sitcom "Corner Gas". The set was never built to last but it lasted much longer than expected.
After the filming ended this place sat empty for several years. Then for a while it was open to the public as a gift-shop. That's when I visited and I feel pretty lucky about that fluke timing. The ground under this set was not ideal for building so the set was slowly sinking. Then on November 4, 2016 when the lease on the land expired, this iconic film set was demolished.
The bit of good news regarding Corner Gas is that the show has returned... this time animated.

Here is a photo of some cool looking rocks from Northern Los Angeles. My brother scouted this spot, which is better known as Vazquez Rocks. Seeing this scene for the first time was like being on a different planet. This interesting formation of rock developed 25 Million years ago, and is a popular backdrop for filming movies and sitcoms. I'm glad we brought plenty of water with us because it was super hot!
I’m still exploring techniques to depict the grace and beauty of movement, especially the stunning aerobatics for birds in flight. So, if you are a regular visitor to my photostream:
1) I apologise for the multiple blurry bird photos I am inflicting on you
2) I believe there is medication that can help
3) If you have any suggestions for improvement, I’d be very pleased to read your advice
4) If you have a severe case of bad-punitis or in-growing sarcasm, I believe jotting them down in the comments field and pressing “enter” helps relives the symptoms. Left unchecked there is a danger you will become a sitcom script writer for the BBC. Heaven forbid!

Sid’s Cafe is the cafe made famous by ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ - the world’s longest running sitcom which began in 1973. With its distinctive white frontage, red ‘cafe’ sign and green gingham curtains it is instantly recognisable as the cafe frequented by Compo, Clegg and Foggy.
Instituto Cervantes, Manchester.
I took this shot in 2012 whilst wandering around Manchester photographing street art; at the time, I thought it looked staged with theatrical props for a TV sitcom:
- ladders
- bike
- wheelie bin
- pot plant
- back street café bar
who knows if it was, or wasn't.
With a vague idea of where I took it, and a virtual tour via Google maps, I think it's the alleyway underneath the Insituto Cervantes on Deansgate; this ties-in with Dimitri's restaurant next door.
The foreground bollard embossed and painted with the city's iconic bee symbol is a giveaway for Manchester.
