This building, designed to represent the 1850s house on the Francy Farm in Markham Township, is the work of architect B. Napier Simpson Jr., (1925-1978). The large 1840s Pennsylvania German-type barn was donated by the Francy Family and re-erected here on the site of the old Riverdale Zoo. The house and barn were built by the original settlers and acquired by the Francy family in 1875. Napier Simpson was nationally renowned as an expert in building conservation and restoration. A member of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, the Ontario Heritage Trust, the Ontario St. Lawrence Development Commission, the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario and the Toronto Historical Board, and consulting architect to the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, B. Napier Simpson Jr. served with untiring devotion in the field of heritage conservation. This was his last major project in the city.

The late afternoon sun filters through onto the creek bed at Simpsons Gap in the West MacDonnell Ranges, near Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory.

We're no big huge fans of The Simpsons, but with a Bricklink shipment of yellow slopes, plates and a bunch of 2x2 eyes.. there was really no choice!? :)

Mr. Burns: "Bobo, I know I say this every century, but I'll never leave you behind again."

Smithers: "Wait for me sir! Woof!"

One of the most accessible attractions of the West MacDonnell Ranges, near Alice Springs, is the striking cleft created by the watercourse of Roe Creek, known as Simpson's Gap. The red cliffs contrast with the white trunks of ghost gums in the sacred place the Arrernte people called Rrengetyirpe.

Somewhere in the back streets of London....

The 66th UK Coach Rally took place over the weekend of April 9th/10th 2022 in Blackpool and was attended by 46 coaches out of a permitted 55. I visited both days and grabbed a few shots of the coaches in all their glory.

This certainly is not a typical meeting location! The late eastbound Southwest Chief takes the siding at Simpson along the northern extents of the BNSF Raton Subdivison, while the on-time Chief holds on the main. Normal meets between the trains occur at Fox or Glorieta on the BNSF Glorieta Subdivision.

I have a feeling we are going to be seeing a lot more of this family...

I finished another commissioned project, which some of you might enjoy !

I am not a crazy SIMPSONS fan, but building it was a huge fun!

All the best!

This should be the last individual habitat for a while. At least until the next series comes out. Hope you've been enjoying them!

Simpson's 950 Legend has been parked at Twin City Truck Centre for months. Id leave it there too, afraid to get such an awesome bit of gear dirty! January 2017.

One of the strangest innovations from the 1890s. The chain and the drive system required was designed by Willian Spiers Simpson in 1895. The peaks of what appear to be triangular reinforcements served a specific purpose as described and shown in the illustrated insert at the left. The claim was that "his chain provided more power through greater leverage".
