In this picture you can see how I used the contrasting fabric from the sari in the dress elements.

While my sweet toddler was mesmerized with the simplicity of the letters on the fridge, I was (as I often am) mesmerized by the simple crescent shaped curls that adorn his precious head. ♥

Clothing for Girls, 1947, by Elizabeth Todd.

A fabulous primer for wardrobe planning, clothing fit and care, and sewing techniques. The wardrobe essentials section of the book is priceless!

Dude, it takes some nerve to wear a red velvet double-breasted New Look coat with sixteen acres of skirt. Holy moley.

The Mazovia region in central Poland is, for me, the epitome of beautiful simplicity

This is my simplicity photo, and what I really like about this one is the slight difference between the green ground and the green tennis ball. To make a contrast between the two I added a streak of light running across the tennis ball, and had half the image still green, so that the tennis ball and ground were more distinguished. I wanted to show how two things with similarities can be vastly different, and I was able to do that with the tennis ball and the ground.

When photographing nature close up, it amazes me sometimes as to the simplicity of reproduction. Most would probably not notice the spore on many fronds and leaves, but I find it quite interesting and fascinating.

Bird's nest fern is a common name applied to several related species of epiphytic ferns in the genus Asplenium. They grow in a tight, nest-like clump with a lingulate leaf rosette and are usually epiphytic, growing in trees. Bird's nest Ferns may also be seen growing on rocks and they will grow in the ground, too.

The term spore derives from the ancient Greek word σπορά spora, meaning "seed, sowing," related to σπόρος sporos, "sowing," and σπείρειν speirein, "to sow."
