This village is one of the most photographed sceneries of Faroe Islands - but this picture is taken in the opposite direction :)
Japanese pilgrim (Henro) on the mountain path to Shosanji temple, Shikoku, Japan 2012. Japanese pilgrim walking on the Henro (Shikoku Pilgrimage of 88 temples) and wearing the ritual equipment: white shirt (白衣, oizuru), and wooden staff (金剛杖, kongō-zue), and conical Asian hat (すげ笠, suge-kasa).
Shosanji temple is the truth moment in your pilgrim since you have to walk a long mountain climbing path to it.
The Shikoku Pilgrimage a multi-site pilgrimage of 88 temples associated with the Buddhist monk Kūkai (Kōbō Daishi) on the island of Shikoku, Japan. The complete pilgrim is all around the island and takes around 2 months.

Stepping off the boat, we were surrounded by daily life on Tonlé Sap Lake. A fisherman carried his nets, a woman balanced baskets of goods, and boats waited to head out. This is the rhythm of Cambodia’s floating villages.
Here, the lake is everything—a road, a market, and a source of livelihood. Every boat ride, every trade, and every moment on the water shows the resilience and adaptability of the people who live here.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

Drawing butterflies is one of the funniest activity for our daughter. The girl is fully occupied with the process, so she does not even notice me with the camera. From the other hand our family portraits are my biggest interest in photography, so the pleasure was equal I guess). Window light fills the scene from the back and reflector adds just a little more light for her face.
