I really liked the looks of this particular rose shrub. Remind me of the simple complexity of women, yet what do I know? These three roses are from the same shrub.
Simple sepia conversion by manipulating curves in Photoshop CS2 (or CS3). Photograph is of an elderly Igorot woman from Banaue, Ifugao in the Northern mountainous region of the Philippines.
To do this:
Convert photo into b/w but still in RGB mode.
Then
Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves.
Select Red in the drop down menu. Select anchor point in the middle of the curve and drag anchor point to the left to make the photo a little bit reddish or magenta-ish.
Select Bue in the drop down menu. Like before, select an anchor point in the middle of the curve and drag it to the right to make the photo brownish/yellowish.
That's it.
Hit OK, then on the layers palette, change mode to overlay. If it is too dark, then change to soft light.
You can then play with the opacity to fine tune the sepia color.
It's odd sometimes where you find beauty. This is the afterburner ring in an older Navy jet fighter. Here raw fuel was poured into the hot exhaust to explode and create even more speed. it amazes me that something so simple and lovely could create such power.
This is a little steering mechanism I came up with after seeing any others work on here. It's very simple and compact and although I've yet to actually use it in a moc I'm confident that it will work as a nice solution.

Simple vegetable soup
This is pretty basic soup but tastes good. Lots of other vegetables or meat can be added.
64 oz. free range chicken broth
15 oz. can tomato sauce
15 oz. can Italian diced tomatoes
2 small bags of baby carrots, chopped (2 lbs.)
1 whole bundle of celery (chopped large, including leaves)
15 oz. frozen package of peas or other vegetable
1 large onion
2 bay leaves, clove of garlic, salt, pepper and other spices
2 tablespoons white vinegar
9 red potatoes or so (cut very small and added right when heat is turned off, or add a little sooner)
salt
pepper
Put everything in an 8-quart pot and simmer for an hour or so with lid on. Add small-cut potatoes right at the end. Add plenty of salt if needed.
Optional:
* boil some spinach or chard or artichokes and add the leftover water
* add some cabbage
* add fresh parsley *with root* (get at Whole Foods)
* use 1 lb. dry, whole grain rice instead of potatoes

I have a simple graduation card to share today which is a continuation of my explorations of design principles. Based on those findings I've been playing around with inspiration from my mood boards and watercolour play and today's card is the result of that. I had fun gravitating back to my clean & simple roots with the pattern created with a Simon Says Stamp die and fun graduation stamps from CZ Design 🎓

I made something simple, casual and warn for the winter.
Kuroda (Soom Dia boy) wears a grey knit sweater and cap with a pair of chequered wool trousers.
Sasha (Zaoll Muse head in Supia body) wears a white knit sweater and cap with a pair of dark grey stretch jeans.
Miyu (Elfdoll Yumi open eyed face plate) wears a white knit cardigan, purple knit cap and leg warmers, red and white lace scarf, a plaid skirt and white stockings.
*Shoes and props are not made by me
Simple pull over abaya, made of crepe, Just a simple solid color abaya no decorations, no cuts. This would be a typical abaya that comply with Muslim dress code.

Simple Chicken Parmesan
6 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1-1/2 cups traditional Italian pasta sauce
vegetable cooking spray
6 small skinless boneless chicken breasts
1-1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Stir 4 Tblsp. Parmesan cheese into pasta sauce
Spray skillet with cooking spray and heat 1 minute
Add chicken and cook until browned, Drain. Pour sauce over chicken, turn chicken over to coat both sides with sauce. Cover and cook over medium heat 10 min. or unitl done.
Top with mozzarella cheese and remaining 2 Tblsp. Parmesan cheese. Let stand 5 min. or until cheese is melted.
This is a recipe from a CUB ad. My husband made it last night and it was mmm mmm good.
