The Inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con in San Jose Convention on March 19, 2016

This is my first photo a week for an entire year.

I went to the Inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con which also happens to be my first comic con ever! I had a great time and hope to go to the big one in San Diego next year!

I chose this photo because the cosplay actor did a great job... Looking at this gives me the chills.

We aimed for Mars, but landed on the Moon. The celestial event known as "Mars opposition" turned out to be less than a spectacle today. Sure we saw the red planet rising right after the sunset, but moon appeared much more photogenic.

It's all about the fans! What an event, what a spectacle - 80,000 people can't be wrong!

Stanford's School of Engineering has been around for a while but what used to be the Engineering Corner is now a whole new quadrangle of buildings.

The names on the buildings are a who's who in the electronics world: William Gates Computer Science, David Packard Electrical Engineering, Moore Materials Research, the Paul Allen Center for Integrated Systems, the William Hewlett Teaching Center and the Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki Environment and Energy Building.

My digital toolkit for my Silicon Valley trip

Gave at presentation at Intel today at the Digital IQ Day.

Along with National Semiconductor and Fairchild, Intel is the reason it is called the Silicon Valley. Hence it is always a thrill to go give a talk at a Valley icon and be a minor footnote in their history.

The other high note a few months was giving the talk at the Xerox PARC. Such a privilege.

From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_Garage

The HP Garage is a private museum where the company Hewlett-Packard (HP) was founded. It is located at 367 Addison Avenue in Palo Alto, California. It is considered to be the "Birthplace of Silicon Valley." In the 1930s, Stanford University and its Dean of Engineering Frederick Terman began encouraging faculty and graduates to stay in the area instead of leaving California, and develop a high-tech region. HP founders William Hewlett and David Packard are considered the first Stanford students who took Terman's advice.

The garage has since been designated California Historical Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Though not open for public tours, the property can be viewed from the sidewalk and driveway.
