Silicon Valley ziet er verder heel saai uit. Zoals op de foto, maar dan kilometer na kilometer.

The spaceship has landed... and it's in Sunnyvale. Long-time valley residents will recall that the Bank of the West at 380 South Mathilda used to be a First National Bank. The building, designed by architect Melvin A. Rojko, was constructed in 1962 and opened in 1963. There used to be four drive-in teller windows positioned around the circumference of the bank, much like a drive-in restaurant.

From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_Garage

The HP Garage is a private museum where the company Hewlett-Packard (HP) was founded. It is located at 367 Addison Avenue in Palo Alto, California. It is considered to be the "Birthplace of Silicon Valley." In the 1930s, Stanford University and its Dean of Engineering Frederick Terman began encouraging faculty and graduates to stay in the area instead of leaving California, and develop a high-tech region. HP founders William Hewlett and David Packard are considered the first Stanford students who took Terman's advice.

The garage has since been designated California Historical Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Though not open for public tours, the property can be viewed from the sidewalk and driveway.

iPhone pics don't do it justice at all: this was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. I managed to take a few pics with my DSLR but it had the 70-200mm lens on it, so no wide views alas.

In any case, it looked like the clouds were simply a layer of cotton draped around the landscape.
