Direction sign on the remote single track road to Lochbuie and Croggan on the Isle of Mull Scotland.
Despite being a single track road and somewhat remote location these roads are some of the most smooth roads I've driven along.

The Black Lion in Middle Hillgate has been long closed and converted to flats. This 1887 pub sign remains but is weathering badly.
I noticed on my trip to London in April last year that this Goulston Street sign is peeling away, but I didn't get a good shot.
Goulston Street was where Jack the Ripper left his only clue.

Wonderful carved sign (dated 1618) over an even older doorway(1582) in Oude Doelenkade, Hoorn, Holland.

This large regulation sized sign, is posted at proper height overhead along the road side on Rio Grand Boulevard in the northwestern part of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. I turned around, stopped and stepped closer to take this photo. -- Fooled me!... only then did I notice that this was a hand made sign posted just inside someone's property line. It is duplicated on the other side so it can be seen by motorists coming from either direction.
Along this route there are frequent signs announcing horse and bicycle crossings. So this was unexpected, but in this part of the country, almost feasible.
The small New Mexico Whip-tail lizard is the most common lizard in this region. The young ones measure around 6 inches (150 mm.) in total length and have bright blue tails - the color disappears as they mature. If a predator grabs the tail it simply breaks off allowing the lizard to escape. But these are very fast running lizards... my cats have never caught one.
