i'd like to make a double dedication today:
1. my mom. clematis always reminds me of her because she loves them so much and always has pointed out the really beautiful full bunches of them.
2. my friend, andrea, without whom this photo would not have been taken. she was so nice to keep an eye on abri as i clicked away.
Photo-taking trip with the daughter. She was quite pleased to "discover" this sign. In downtown Columbus, Ohio. Note the slimed vehicles below.
Little tip, if you visit a wood youve never been to before at sunset, take a torch or leave some breadcrumbs. Took me about an hour to find the car once it got dark.
The Launching Pad, a real icon of Illinois 66. We had a hamburger there. It was a diner delight done well.
Spent a few hours out doing photography on Saturday. I loved being fully immersed in it and forgetting about the outside world for a bit. Photography is such a big part of me.
(Does anyone else get nostalgic when they see the brown and yellow Ontario Provincial Park signs? :) )
This warning sign resides in my backyard. It once graced Conrail's Herbert Secondary near Brandywine MD indicating the beginning of a permanent 10mph speed restriction approaching the south leg of the wye at Brandywine where the Herbert joins the Pope's Creek Secondary. It was found in the brush near the main after a new speed restriction sign had been installed.

Someone stole our Obama for President sign from our yard last night. They stole nearly all the Obama signs in our neighborhood. The ones they didn't take they spray-painted black. So I made this sign today and staked it in the yard. I fully expect it to be trashed by morning. At least they know the result of their pranks: we give more money to Obama's campaign.

Blue signs still in situ despite some 'modern' smaller ones - at Crianlarich Station on 19/7/83. The 'Upper' distinction no longer necessary.
This fine feathered friend resides at the entrance to the Black River Marsh cord walk at Kohler-Andrae State Park. I like both the detailed design and the weathered wood.
