This shot is the continuing of yesterday’s one.

I will try to use less my car…

A little one, but that’s a start!

Questo scatto è in continuità con quello di ieri.

La mia intenzione è quella di provare ad usare meno la mia auto…

E’ pur sempre un inizio!

Okay, if you're not in the mood for snark, move along. These signs have been making their appearance around town. I've seen similar messages on bumper stickers previously. That goes along with all the other crapola bumper sticker slogans such as, "If you can read this, thank a teacher," and so many other self-serving exclamations made on all manner of media. The implications are that they are doing this as a favor to us, rather than as a means of making money. The idiocy of this should be obvious. Why not "If you have a bank account, thank a banker?" Or what about, "If you haven't been arrested for tax evasion, thank a CPA?" It goes on and on. Extended out to it's logical conclusion, we must all get bumper stickers to exclaim our virtue and reason for existing on the planet. How about, "If you're a cop, thank us criminals?" "If you're toilet flushes, thank your plumber."

I mean, really. how dumb are we?

hair salon best known for it's awesome awesome sign.

It should be noted that I photoshoped part of a billboard out of the shot because it was too distracting.

a wonderful neon sign in Cloverdale that still stands tall above a thriving business, have stopped there once, my husband has a weakness for "cowboy boots", so I try not to expose him to temptation :)

I went to Cypressmede Park to look for signs of spring wildflowers. There were the glimmerings of little shoots here and there. This little Red-backed Salamander was a pleasant find on a warm early spring day.

On the other side of the fence, Mr. Zoom and I crossed the street to get a better look at the building from which we'd just escaped. I was happy to see that Mr. Z's eyes were clear again. He asked if I still had the paper I'd pulled out of the one-fingered hand. I patted the pockets of my pants. Yes! But only part of it.

We stood huddled together, trying to find a clue in the words. If we were to believe the Statue of Liberty, Demi only had to look for the signs to find her other half. Originally we were just humoring Demi, helping her with her quest. But now we felt that if we followed the signs we might find her.

Part of a headline remained. We read it together at the same time...out loud.

ines Contribute to City's Demi (and the paper was torn here)

Huh? City's Demise was a good guess as to the rest of the headline. But what about the beginning?

A bit of wind ruffled the paper in my hand and my eyes were struck by the words etched in the sidewalk.

IN DIRECT LINE WITH ANOTHER and THE NEXT.

Mr. Zoom and I looked at each other, puzzled, and in a way, more frightened than we were with the Bruce Lee look-alike bearing down on us. Could the partial headline and these odd words have a connection to each other....and to Demi?

Does anyone else's head hurt?

This is the continuing story of Demi Less and her quest to find her other half. The quest has led her...and us, from Virginia to New York City. If you are just joining us, you might want to read Part 1. Start at the last photo and move forward.
