This is the final Kodak Signet in my sub-category of Eastman 35's. The set is thus complete, on to the next set! (I've desaturated the photo a bit to lend a period look)
I've heard of this happening to others, but until now the experience had passed me by. A friend of a friend cleaning out a basement full of his grandfather's stuff unearthed a large pile of photography equipment. I offered a nominal sum for the entire pile mostly sight unseen (a few photos my friend provided helped). Everything I've seen so far has been sort of "prosumer" stuff for its era, all in decent condition so far, although I haven't started trying to clean stuff out yet or find out how operable it is. Looks decent is all. But I'm still very happy with what turned up; it's all interesting and fun, and there's some useful stuff here: film holders and the like.
This poor guy needs a good cleaning. Might be OK under all that filth.

Double Signet Ring
Egypt, Dynasty 18, reign of Akhenaten, ca. 1353-1336
The ring bezel is decorated with the royal device of two cartouches topped by ostrich plumes. The cartouches frame dancing figures of Bes, a minor god who frightened away demons and killed snakes and other harmful animals. Bes was closely associated with women in labor and with small childen, and use of his image on this ring suggests that it belonged to a queen.
