Picture taken of Swans and Signets at Ascog Beach, isle of bute
Picture taken in August 2008. This little blighter pecked my lense and crack the filter I had on at the time
I took these photos whilst walking my dog. Whilst the swans usually live on the Harwich boating lake, they move to a quieter stream to raise their young.
sony alpha a57 slt set to rwl with a carl zeiss sonnar red 135mm all manual lens @f3.5 fitted with a tiffen filter
shot in mono and manual focus @ woodwalton fen reserve
swans are difficult subjects in black and white, but signets provide a good contrast to work with.
Duke Alaric Morgan and his many generations removed great-great-something-grandson Morgan Haldane get matching signet rings. The green ring is the Corwyn signet, and the black one is the King's (or in Morgan's case, Queen's) Champion ring.

This baby swan was hiding in the reeds and probably the reason the mother swan rushed me so aggressively!

Nice walk in good weather. Cafe near the top is excellent though a little small for indoor seating in poor weather. Plenty of external seating.
We saw ducks, a Swan with two signets and a Heron. 4 canal boats - lots of people.
