Signage in Dunstable where the Busway crosses College Drive. The 'Keep off the track' board is, I think, a recent addition.
We had a fabulous shrimp lunch at Miss Jean’s in Onalaska, Texas today, When we saw this sign, we laughed out loud. I felt guilty using my iPhone to take the picture! I promise we talked the rest of the time. Round 114 ANSH: signage
Charing Cross is a station of many names and faces. It has evolved from several Underground stations that have been combined and modified over time into the current form. The story of its development is one of constant change and innovation.
Situated at the point where the Strand and Trafalgar Square meet, the station provides access to an area of London familiar to Londoners and tourists, but few would guess what lies beneath the streets beyond the operational station tunnels.
These photographs, taken in October 2017, showcase the tunnels as they stand today.
Inspiration for the framing of the shots came from the 1975 New Topographics exhibition.
Ghost sign in downtown Connersville, Indiana for the Hackman-Heeb Company, a local department store. "Dry Goods, Cloaks, Shoes, Etc., Furniture, Stoves, Home Furnishings". Wow, I never knew cloaks were such a big thing.
Old shop & its signage on High Road, Willesden, NW London.
This shopfront signage appears to be for a Undertakers as Funerals & Cremations can be made out & Glass, China & Furniture on a newer sign.
There are 2(or maybe 3) names in the centre but can only make out what looks like K.Whatley as the more recent name.
Image from 2014 but sign still visible last i passed in Autumn 2018.
This looks like it's at least been open very recently, but I don't know if the marquee is going to bring in a lot of traffic. Have to give it points for honesty though.
This was a typography project I did a couple of years ago, it's individual letters from signage around Lost Angeles. It took me about two weeks to get it all together, I have a neon one to but I'm not finished with it yet...
A version of this made it to HYPE.
Voted #167 on Interestingness on Nov 12, 2005, according to Flagrant Disregard's Scout.
I was just passing by along Arab Street when I saw these on the tiled walkway. The characters, in Chinese and in English, were clearly being discarded in favour of modern signage - perhaps neon, or lights within a plastic box. That's progress for you.
170 108 draws into University station on the Birmingham Cross City Line with 1V04 Nottingham to Cardiff Central. A station were running is very much frowned upon much more so than smoking or vaping.....
Halifax street signage.
Shot handheld with a Sony NEX7 and the SEL1855 kit zoom. Higher ISO, shot through cab window glass.
The kit zoom is not often discussed as a lens; it is neither fast nor wide ranging, but at f5.6 it is reasonably sharp across all focal lengths.
Halifax, Nova Scotia is a small Maritime city in Canada, with a Naval presence, a well established commercial shipping industry and a large University base. Winters are shorter and milder here than in much of Canada, and it sits one timezone east of any in the USA, distant enough from the populations of Ontario & Quebec that it remains less travelled.
This early evening shot in the central bar district captures signage for the old tavern, described as 'the first to open after prohibition' and so the oldest in Halifax -- it moved to a new location shortly after, and so the name lives on but this iconic view is no more.

What are your thoughts on Disney's Animal Kingdom?
When I first heard I was going to Animal Kingdom to work, I looked up the park hours to see if there was a chance to get overtime hours and work more. It turns out that this park closes frequently at 5 pm and most likely before any of the other parks. I was upset, but then realized, this gives me a chance to go take photos every day after work at any other park very easily. I love it. I can go...

The watercolor illustration of the WETLAND PROJECT (pond and marginal wetland restoration) for a standing outdoor info sign. The finished sign will also provide a caption layout of creatures in the wetland. Part of my Artist -in-Residence project at Iris Griffith Center - Ruby Lake from this August 2007.
