Polling Station sign, Percival Street, Islington, EC1. This wasn't the actual Polling Station for the London Assembly/London Mayoral elections but was attempting to tell the electorate where it was! Made me smile anyway.

An abandoned truck stop just west of Reed City.

About half of the cottages have now been remodeled at the Jules Cottage Court. The miniature golf course across the street has been left to fade away surrounded by chain link fence.

"Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich Is Delicious". These relics are still surviving today more than any other fast food chain signage from the past. The grandiosity of the gallon-sized hat used to tower over everything on Wolcott Street but is sadly no more as it's been removed for a "safer," much smaller boring one today.

This Arby's opened in 1970, which was the original year for this glorious sign, which has finally and sadly been removed for a much smaller one in 2014.

I would imagine that at one time Don's was a great looking neon sign, but no more. Some of the patched holes are just barely visible.

This sign made me smile!

Quote from New graphic design in Revolutionary Russia by Szymon Bojko.

"One of the first books to sport such a cover was the little tome Mayakovsky Smiles.... (1923). Its novelty lies in the fact that it encouraged one to read the verse of the popular poet set out in an aggressive and visually striking manner. It aptly conceived a youthful mood of world-shaking poetry sparkling with humor and irony."

Good idea.

It's actually reinforcement of a message that you are on a stretch of road where lots of accidents have occurred.

But can anyone tell me exactly what people mean by all these St George's flags everywhere?
