This sign is all that remains of the old Clermont Drive-In Theater.

This vintage motel in Gunnison, Colorado looks totally different than this after a paint job using "severe colors". The sign was also painted to match. I feel fortunate to have taken this shot with the original color scheme. Yea sputnik!

This motel normally looks very dreary, but on this day, things were looking pretty chipper. Some tenants were enjoying a cookout.

I had also never noticed that you could make out letters of a name previous to "Marion's". You can see the word "house" on the right side of the sign in faint white paint. I couldn't make out what letters might be hiding on the left 2/3 of the sign, though. Does anyone know its former name?

D&M Liquors, 2200 Fillmore Street, San Francisco, California. D&M Wines and Liquors specializes in Champagne, fine French brandies, Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, American Whiskeys and fine wines. They are a family owned store, and have been since 1935.

Our last stop on old Route 66 before heading for home was this great old dealership sign that is a refreshing change from the boring standard GM dealer signs of today.

One of the perimeter warning signs along Groom Lake Road. This is as close as you can get to Area 51 without severe consequences. There is a so-called "cammo dude" watching my every move from a truck on the hill.
