I believe it opened in the 1920's lasted till the early 21st Century. Great Fried Chicken and Pies. Now Gone! I had eaten here every time I took the trip to New Jersey from Kansas City. Found the place when I was still hitchhiking in the early 70's.

Vintage sign at the entrance!

Westgate Shopping Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This shopping center was built in 1961 and has since been modernized. The sign at the shopping center's entrance looks original.

3D sign art

Closed in May 2014. Patriarchs had no one left in the family to take it over. This great sign last worked in... I can't remember. Probably not in the last 10 years - maybe 15. They resorted to in-ground lamps on either side to light it.

5/12/2016: A shot of the sign that is in transition from old to new. I've seen new Wendy's with old signs and old Wendy's with new signs (I think); here we have a new(ly-remodeled) building with a new sign. The new Wendy's portrait takes up more space than the old one did.

Some random shopguy proposed that I run off to Vegas with him - I have to say it's one of the better offers I've had lately...
