See the same beetle in motion, recorded in CinemaDNG at 100 fps, slowed down 3x, interpreted using the same RawTherapee preset: vimeo.com/709917172
Innocent alone,
In the first warm light.
Gently underway.
Winter’s shadows fading.
New to the world.
Will you … ?
Can you … ?
Whispering to the woods,
Listening,
Wondering,
Watching.
Gently underway ...
Leucojum vernum / Spring Snowflake

I haven't been posting for a while because my laptop started to become unreliable, then the screen turned green, then it turned purple. I spent ages agonising over which laptop to replace it with before choosing the wrong one. The screen was lovely and bright but the colours were nowhere near accurate. I have a screen calibrator on Skye which hopefully will deal with the issue but we're still in South Lanarkshire.
I then decided to try to temporarily use an old Mac which I bought secondhand ages ago but had never used. There are many things I like about it but for photography it doesn't work the way I'm used to so I'm tearing my hair out. One of the many annoyances is that it won't allow me to save images I've worked on to Photos so I save them to Downloads, then after a few days they disappear completely. I've just come across these in Recents so I'm posting them before they disappear again!
Here is Durisdeer Church, an impressive building for such a small village.

"Retina detachment" are not words that any photographer wishes to hear …
Two emergency operations in December on what I would have considered to be my “better” eye,
puts a certain perspective on how one considers one’s place in the world …
Even in such times, where our lives are anything other than normal,
the fragility of one’s own existence is suddenly very present …
It is no Covid induced “brush with death” that many face for themselves or loved ones,
but nonetheless a time to reflect …
The world is a beautiful place ...
