This is what the interior of the shuttle and its engines look like.

On the top of the thrusters there are two modulex tiles connected to clip plates.

sosyal ng shuttle service na 'to, dalawa pala Hyundai Unicity nila

This project started out with me seeing some concept art by Ivan Tantsiura. The engines in particular really caught my attention. More boxy than what you normally see. So I decided to run with the concept.

The idea behind the shuttle itself was less scientific like NASAs shuttles, and more commercial. Carrying corporate employees to stations in Earth orbit. So the interior is more luxurious than you might expect with plenty of leg room. Even the cockpit has some measure of luxury, despite a lot of that being overridden with function The seat would have neural ports for the pilots to control the aircraft, something I couldn't manage on the model itself but the idea lives on in my imagination. Now, on the other hand, you don't want to waste money on too much luxury, so the rear cargo bay is bare metal with industrial warnings and hardpoints for securing luggage. Really embracing that military cargo bay feel. All in all I am really happy with the interior. I even managed to make room for figs!

I had just as much fun with the exterior. I wanted a super clean look that was reminiscent of our real-world shuttles, but still carried on more sci-fi design cues. The engines are an obvious start to that concept. Those were taken wholesale from the concept art I mentioned earlier, then modified and adapted to suit what I had in mind. The rest of the shuttle took shape from an early sketch I did of the top profile. And I swear I was using that leading edge design before the UCS Batwing was announced, that's what I'm saying to make myself feel better at least.

Obviously, another important part of the exterior is the color blocking. The orange came pretty naturally. It contrasts well without being too bright. And the part availability meant I had access to enough parts to really clean up the lines. The orange section on the underside makes me especially happy.

And that's really a good note to end on, I'm just really happy with this build. It let me have some fun and I think the final pruduct reflects that. As always, instructions are available on Rebrickable. rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-89840/AsgardianStudio/cyberpunk-...

Leeds Bradford Airport has always operated an interesting "airside" fleet. The car park shuttle on the "landside" has used smaller vehicles from van derived minibuses through to Optare Solos. Recently however, perhaps reflecting the airports growth a number of Dennis Darts have been in operation. Getting them out "on the road" in action as I like to do is somewhat difficult given the route is only approximately 1 mile long but there are some possibilities which can give some results. Id have put the darts airside and certified the tempo although regular viewers will know im totally biased in that regard !

OSN860Y was a Volvo Ailsa B55-10 / Northern Counties H51/33D new as Tayside Regional Transport number 60 in April 1983. It passed to Dave Forrest t/a Merseypride before reaching Shuttle Buses in 1998. It later passed to Ayrways, then Bennett's of Gloucester for further service.

Main pic of my 7470 Space Shuttle revamp.

Boy, this thing was an absolute BLAST to build. I haven't had this much fun building a space related build since my SpaceX Rover back during FebRovery. I had to order a small number of parts to finish it, but $20 and my first BrickLink order later, it was complete!

The major modifications to this included tiling the wings and roof, changing the rear tailfin designs, and adding detailing to the Shuttle. Lots of work went into just the black parts on the back of the wings, about 2 1/2 hours of cutting electrical tape for that.

Overall, 2 weeks of work and around $50 for the set and parts is what was put into this thing, I couldn't ask for it to be any better!

Also, it's mighty swooshable! :D

Comments and feedback are appreciated.

I'd appreciate that if you fave this you comment on it as well!

In the lates 1960s NASA began to work on an Integrated Launch and Re-entry Vehicle which would ultimately become the Space Shuttle. In 1969 President Nixon gave the green light to proceed with the Shuttle development and in 1973 NASA was able to confirm that a unpowered spaceplane could re-enter Earth's atmosphere from space for a safe return to a horizontal landing.

Six airworthy Space Shuttle orbiters have been built, although the first, Enterprise, was not built for orbital space flight, and was used only for testing purposes.

The first of four test flights occurred in 1981, which were followed by operational flights beginning in 1982. The system is scheduled to be retired from service in 2010 after 134 launches. Major missions have included launching numerous satellites and interplanetary probes, conducting space science experiments, and servicing and construction of space stations. The Shuttle has been used for orbital space missions by NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, the European Space Agency, and Germany.

Current plans call for the Space Shuttle to be retired from service in 2010, after nearly 30 years of service. To fill the void left by the Shuttle's retirement, a new spacecraft is being developed to ferry not only passengers and cargo to the Internation Space Station but also to travel beyond Earth orbit to the Moon and Mars, known as Project Constellation.

President Obama's administration has proposed eliminating public funds for the Constellation program and shifting the burden for developing a replacement low-orbit service to private corporations. Until another launch vehicle is ready, crews would travel to and from the International Space Station onboard Russian Soyuz spacecraft. President Obama's plan must be approved by the United States Congress, and counter-proposals are currently being considered by Congress, including the potential extension of the Space Shuttle program for an additional five years while a replacement can be developed.

Hopefully, public funding will remain and the Space Shuttle program will continue until a new space vehicle is ready. If not, it will be a said day in American History when the United States can no longer go to space.

This is just a spacecraft design I came up with. I didn't really base it off of something else, but it is meant to be some kind of shuttle.

Have a wonderful day.

All around the Atlantis Shuttle, there are interactive displays on several floors to learn more about the history and technologies of NASA's Space Shuttle Program. As we move forward, the corridor becomes orange and red, as if we felt the sudden return of the shuttle into the Earth's atmosphere …

A shot aboard Cobra Space Station, a concept I invented a while back.

The shuttle is a Star Trek shuttlecraft repurposed and re-stickered for Cobra.

The pilot is a repainted Cobra Blackstar figure. The scheme is one I used for several space customs that were matched to the BAAT.

There's a resin console in the foreground that I painted to "1980s Tandy" colors, then messed with the exposure to make the screens look active.

And the background is a cardboard backdrop from Extreme Sets, helping make Cobra Space Station convincing.

This is a shuttle based on the "Over the moon" spacecraft and therefore compatible with set 10391.

It can be placed on the colorful exhaust stream stand (of which I made a more realistic color variant.

And here goes the second ship I am currently working on!

I have not started building this in real bricks yet as the Falcon has first priority but I will keep you updated as the building process goes on. ;)

Your thoughts are always very welcome! :)

This is the real thing (not a model), the original, full size in a new facility that they've built at Kennedy Space Center in honor of the Shuttle Program. You first watch a movie of its history, the doors open... and there it is, indoors, all lit up and suspended in air in front of you at a 43.21 degree angle. Amazing closeup experience!

Atlantis was the fourth operational (and the next-to-the-last) Space Shuttle to be constructed by the Rockwell International Co. in Southern California, and it was delivered to the Kennedy Space Center in eastern Florida in April 1985. Atlantis was named after RV Atlantis, a two-masted sailing ship that operated as the primary research vessel for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution from 1930 to 1966.

The last mission of Atlantis was the last flight of the Shuttle program. This final flight, authorized in October 2010, brought additional supplies to the International Space Station and took advantage of the processing performed for the Launch on Need mission, which would only have been flown in the event that Endeavour's crew required rescue. Atlantis launched successfully for the final time on July 8th, 2011 at 16:29 UTC, landing at the John F. Kennedy Space Center on July 21st, 2011 at 09:57 UTC. By the end of its final mission, Atlantis had orbited the Earth 4,848 times, traveling nearly 126,000,000 miles in space or more than 525 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon.

At Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Space Shuttle Atlantis is the new $100 million home of the priceless, historic spacecraft that tells the incredible story of NASA’s 30-year Space Shuttle Program. The 90,000 square-foot Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction is the marquee element of the Visitor Complex’s 10-year master plan. The Visitor Complex displays Atlantis suspended with its payload bay doors opened (above) such that it appears to be back in orbit around the Earth. A multi-story digital projection of Earth rotates behind the orbiter in a 64,000-square-foot indoor facility. Ground breaking of the facility occurred in 2012. The exhibit opened on June 29th, 2013.

[Interesting note: Atlantis is suspended in its new facility with cargo bay doors open at a 43.21 degree angle. Get it? 4-3-2-1 Liftoff!]

ESA’s technical heart will be serving as a testbed for this driverless shuttle in the coming months.

The Agency’s ESTEC establishment in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, is working with vehicle owner Dutch Automated Mobility, provincial and municipal governments and bus company Arriva to assess its viability as a ‘last mile’ solution for public transport.

The fully autonomous vehicle calculates its position using a fusion of satellite navigation, lidar ‘laser radar’, visible cameras and motion sensors. Once it enters service in October it will be used to transport employees from one side of the ESTEC complex to the other.

The fully-electric, zero-emission shuttle will respect the on-site speed limit of 15 km/h, and for its first six months of service will carry a steward to observe its operation along its preprogrammed 10-minute-long roundtrip.

Come visit ESTEC during our annual ESA Open Day on Sunday 6 October. Find out more here.

The primary payload, Galileo/Jupiter spacecraft and attached Inertial Upper Stage (IUS), was deployed six hours, 30 minutes into the flight. IUS stages fired, placing Galileo on trajectory for six-year trip to Jupiter via gravitational boosts from Venus and Earth and possible observational brushes with asteroids Gaspra and Ida. Secondary payloads included Shuttle Solar Backscatter Ultraviolet (SSBUV) experiment carried in cargo bay, and in crew cabin, Growth Hormone Crystal Distribution (GHCD); Polymer Morphology (PM), Sensor Technology Experiment (STEX); Mesoscale Lightning Experiment (MLE); IMAX camera; Shuttle Student Involvement Program (SSIP) experiment that investigated ice crystal formation in zero gravity; and ground-based Air Force Maui Optical Site (AMOS) experiment.

Building is at a bit of a low at the moment, but this _is_ coming.

This is a MOC of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. It is a LEGO Ideas project, so if enough people support it, it could become an official LEGO set. You can support it at ideas.lego.com/projects/f072bc4c-47a3-417e-98cb-5750fdac516d. It took around a month to build and uses approximately 2,500 parts.
