Burrator Reservoir, Dartmoor, Devon
GH2 + 45-200mm + ND filter
I visited Burrator Reservoir today and spent a frustrating hour and a half wandering around amongst the wreckage of recent floods in an attempt to find anything photogenic. Just before going home, I spotted this icicle-covered branch overhanging a stream and spent quite some time shooting with a telephoto lens, experimenting with different angles and shutter speeds to capture the background water at its best. A neutral density filter was essential here.

Mephit Furmeet 2023
Even with a slower shutter speed, I did not see much fluorescing of the fursuits and accessories.
Just me, messing around with shutter speeds on a Friday afternoon. I finally popped my Nikon D300 instructional DVD into the player and watched most of it. I have so much to learn. :::sigh:::

Used the Sunny 16 Rule for these shots:
F/16 at 1/125 shutter speed at ISO100
"If you have a bright, sunny day, then use f-stop 16 for your camera lens aperture. The shutter speed should then be set to the equivalent of your ISO film speed – or the next number over. For example, if you are using an ISO film speed of 100, your shutter speed should be set to 1/125. More than often, your shutter speed number will be higher than the ISO film speed, but it is much easier to remember that film speed equals shutter speed."
These are jpgs exposed using a manually-set shutter speed at f2.8. From left to right the shutter speeds are 1/500, 1/250. 1/125. 1/60. 1/30. 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 seconds respectively.
