Father’s Day spending in 2011 is projected to be approximately $11.1 billion*. If you spend you buy dear old dad’s gifts this year at a locally-owned businesses, a total of $7.6 billion would be reinvested in local communities across the U.S. If you plan on buying his gifts at a national chain, your local reinvestment drops to only $4.8 billion. This Father’s Day do your Dad proud and help revive your local economy.
The National Retail Federation’s 2012 Halloween consumer survey reports a record 170 million people plan to celebrate Halloween this year. According to the survey, consumers are also expected to spend more, with the average person spending $79.82 and an estimated total of $8.0 billion for Halloween spending in 2012. Imagine what an impact you could make on your local community if you purchased decorations, costumes and candy from locally owned businesses?
