As summer is nearly gone, I liked to do this sea side wedding cake. Everything is fondant, only the couple is polymer clay.
Thanks for looking!
A sandpiper works a pile of shells for food as even more shells wash ashore on a beach near Bay City, Michigan, on Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay. Done for Textural Tuesday.

Made molds of a few shells a couple of weeks ago and used them to create this today. Inspired by flickr friend: www.flickr.com/photos/22057628@N00/5706653513/
These lovely seashells on the beach at Grótta, Seltjarnarnes. Of all sizes and colors. I took a few and played with them.
My wife’s crop from our two days on Sanibel Island. These shells will be incorporated in her artwork.
Time to move on from Jury's Gap to our next stop this time Dungeness. Why, Melanie needed to use the loo so we stopped off at the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway station to use the facilities and stayed a while!

Shell's Kitchen (1,808 square feet)
14624 Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, VA
The was originally a Taco Bell, which opened on December 19th, 1977 (as the first built in the area) and relocated here in 1992. Since 1995 it has operated as several different independent restaurants, including:
*Kory Restaurant
*Soprano Italian Restaurant (opened in the 2000s, closed in early 2012)
*Sunday's Kitchen (opened in late 2012, closed in early 2013)
*Wolf's Burger Joint (opened in December 2013, closed in early 2014)
*Emo Italino Pizza (opened in 2014, closed in the middle of 2016)
*Shell's (opened in late 2016)
As you can see here, this Taco Bell had the exterior access restrooms that were a common staple of locations of that era. I'm not sure if the drive-thru is original or not, but it's certainly situated oddly. The arrow looks like its' pointing you to drive into the shed!
This Sea Shell Butterfly is part of a larger very beautiful sea shell creation done by Lionel Comeau of Petit-Rocher, NB These creations were on display at the headquarters for the Acadian Seniors Games that were held this weekend. Congrats to my wife Lynda who won a silver medal in Bowling.
Apologies, but gold glitter wrapping paper just doesn't photograph too well (with my camera anyway).
Shell pasta sauteed with capsium and presented in a gorgeously roasted red capsium. In the background are the gnocchi and pesto pasta.
This picture belongs to a series of food shots I did for Kiss Cafe (Beijing).
All this construction around my house is driving me insane. Its a good thing my wife just got a Jeep because my regular car would have fallen apart by now with all the holes and sand bumps in the area. Have you guys seen the extremely deep hole in the street between Starbucks and Sbarro in front of Fanar? I had trouble passing it even with the Jeep! Hopefully all the construction will end soon and they repave the streets. Near my house there are a whole bunch of Shell barrels filled with diesel fuel for the trucks. I really like the Shell logo and colors, its simple and memorable.
