a mountain of shells - fort bragg

Shell Beach, within the Shark Bay world heritage site. The beach stretches for 60km and in places is up to a depth of 10m. See flic.kr/p/2dbpoqN for a close-up of the shells.

The high salinity of the sea in this area has allowed the cockle to proliferate unchecked, since its natural predators have not adapted well to this environment. Before becoming a conservation area the compacted shells were made into bricks and used for building.

Camptogramma bilineata bohatschi (Aigner, 1902), aka the yellow shell, is a moth in the family Geometridae.

This is my first focus stacking post. The portrait of this beautiful moth was made on a live specimen from Troodos Mountains, Cyprus, and is based on 223 shots, assembled in Zerene Stacker. Taken with Nikon D750 and Venus (Laowa) 60mm f/2.8 2:1 macro lens; ISO-100, f/4, 1/200s, 1 diffused flash (SB-900) from the top.

Shell, sand, underwater

This is what we found from the shell hunt at Marco Island. The most amazing shells I've ever seen for the taking.

This is the model designed by request. Valentina Minaeva asked me if it's possible to make 5-sided shells with closed back. This was the nice problem to solve. This problem resulted these "shells". They're made of paper rectangles (around 1:2, this may vary) and can vary the proportions (5-sided one has more rules to follow and 4 sided can be varied easier). Valentina made the beautiful modular with 60 of pentagonal units

Do you have a good name for this model?

Many times the shells are banded and striped, adding even more to their beauty.

Isn't perfectly sharp, because was taken from hand without tripod.
