After a beautiful sunset the sky was colored in faded red and blue . In combination with the calm water, it was a nice background to the sea shells exposed due to low tide.

Sea shell on black velvet. For the Saturday Self-Challenge group, who's theme this week was "Black and White."
Or screw shell. This one along with the stone, was found on our local beach. The shell look very weathered and quite sun bleached. But good focus stacking practice.
Freshly caught conch shells. Locals love to eat these, so we brought some back with us to make a delicious conch salad.
I was starting to forget how to actually take pictures that don't directly relate to my dreary life so thought I'd be a swot today to make up for my reckless weekend.

A Lewes exterior.
Both these lei were brought back from Rapa Nui. The black shells in the far lei are Black Nerites, which certainly occur on Rapa Nui beaches, as do small cowries, but I suppose they could be from countless places in the Pacific.

A small Buddha plombb figurines were put in the living shell. As it grows there are covered with sedeph. End result is quite impressive to me.
This is my original shot for the Macro Mondays theme of spirals i.e. until my knowledgeable husband pointed out that strictly speaking, a shell like this is a helix ( same goes for snail shells)
