The hypersalinated water of L’Haridon Bight in Shark Bay are home to billions of tiny coquina bivalve shells and is known as Shell Beach.

A fake Shell Oil billboard in Houston, July 19, 2012, reads "You Can't Run Your SUV on Cute, Let's Go." The sign mocks Shell's current advertising campaign with an image of a polar bear and cubs. By chasing after hard-to-reach oil in remote and dangerous places, Shell is putting polar bears, walruses and other Arctic wildlife at risk.

A shell through a shell...

With textures from Shadowhouse Creations. Thanks again, Jerry.

This shot probably would have been better if the shells weren't so dirty. Because they are so small and delicate, it's hard to get them clean without damaging or losing one or two. I tried the Photoshop healing brush, but there's just too much to "clean". I decided that natural was better, in this case.

I found these shoes for under $10. I tucked them away, and rediscovered them again rooting through my pile of.... The leather sole is sumptuous, but I'm unsure if the straps will hold up to city streets. It's funny how my nails are painted the same color as the shell. I recently noticed my pseudo-Fred Flintstone toes, on my left foot, do a weird grip/curl thing. I'm not sure if I like that....

An unusual formation of sea shells I came across last time I photographed Fontygary Bay.

Pricey gasoline and diesel at this new Shell station in Regina. Good thing the station's not open yet! It does make me wonder why they didn't enter 888.8 in to test the complete LED display.

The Shell Building

London

Height: 107m

Floors: 26

Built: 1957-1962

Architect: Sir Howard Robertson

Developer: Shell Transport

The Shell Tower caused a major row. Violating planning rules, it was originally expected to be refused until Shell threatened to locate elsewhere in Europe if they did not get their HQ built where they wanted it.

Original plans called for a tower over twice as high. This was cut back due to a compromise.

The entire Shell Center is modelled on the Rockerfeller Center in New York with it's complex of buildings and was the first development to have a public plaza.

When built, it was Europe's largest office complex.

It is the joint international HQ of Shell along with Royal Dutch in Holland.

In terms of concrete cladding used, it remains London's largest concrete tower.
