I had trouble thinking of something to do for this week with Sheba. I often show her face, but couldn't think of anything. So on her daily walk I saw her paw print and was like hey, that would be cool! and it shows a different part of her. Sheba's paw and paw pad :)

My friends grand old lady, long haired German Shepard Sheba.

This is the new addition to our family. She is a rescue dog and had been with us 2 days when this was taken.

This cupcake is based on Elizabeth David's 'Reine de Saba' or Queen of Sheba cake. It is a dense, slightly gooey cake made with 70% chocolate; organic, free-range eggs; and almond meal. It is made even more decadently chocolatey through topping it with a Lindt chocolate buttercream. Incredibly rich, but with a large and loyal following.

It has been awhile since I have posted a photo of the puppy.

Miko is 6 months old. She is already as tall as Suki.

Not quit as filled out yet but she is still growing.

She went to the vet on Friday to get spayed.

She laid around Saturday most of the day but today she is back to being Miko again.

Too bad the drugs didn't last another day or two.

Duke wonders what I am doing.

The other two are interested in Deb making dinner.

Not widespread or common in South Africa, occurring only in the coastal forests north of St Lucia estuary in KwaZulu-Natal, and in the Afro-montane forests of Mpumalanga. The range extends into similar habitats in neighbouring countries. Another, more southern subspecies, is found in Afro-montane and coastal scrub forests of central and southern KwaZulu-Natal, extending into the Eastern Cape to just north of the Knysna forest. Higher population densities occur at the north coast. The two South African subspecies are only distinguished by colour variances.
