There is a heartbreaking and infuriating story behind this artwork. This work is in memory of poor Sheba, a gorgeous tiger who lost her life. Long story but locals are spitting mad that she had to be put down, and her owner is absolutely heartbroken. She was directly a victim of the main problem that plagues South Africa: the ANC government. As i said, long story but i wanted to make something in her memory.

Thelymitra variegata. Just had to take a photo of this fabulous orchid before I leave on my trip as it will probably be finished by the time I get back. This orchid is found in woodland in sandy soils, often at the side of a track. Perhaps the most beautiful wild orchid in Western Australia. The flowers can vary in size, colour and markings.
Sheba Dams.
Claiming a surface area of 3.6 hectare Sheba Dams were constructed by hand in a three week period in 1888 and were designed to service the sluicing needs for gold miners.
Once completed the water rights were leased for the area by the Mt Sheba Gold Sluicing Company.
Today the commercial gold mining operations are gone but there is still a huge scope for the amateur fossicker to find small gold nuggets within the region known as the Hills of Gold.
Sheba Dams is now a popular location for day trippers to have picnic or have a bbq and camping.
For the angler there is an opportunity to wet the line try your luck at catching a trout.
Just east from Hanging Rock, Sheba Dams (No 1 and 2) were built by hand in 1888 to store water for sluicing gold.
Now they are just a pretty spot to picnic, camp, and fish for trout.
Sheba Dams are located approximately 11 kilometres east of Nundle and is south east of Hanging Rock.
