I falled in love with this pencil sharpener as soon as i saw it!
Now it's the only rolleiflex i can afford :(
So I was shopping with my bf and while he was buying boy things I wandered away and found these die cast metal pencil sharpeners I’ve been seeing online for like $15+. I looked at the price and hey, it was $5 for each thing so I got both the telephone and sewing machine as the other things were a weird train thingy and a bell.
I dunno if the phone is oversized though and the sewing machine is a bit undersized but I think they’d work as background pieces especially for my vintage dolls lol.
But yeah the sewing machine’s wheel actually turns and the needle moves up and down so yeah lol.
A curious profession and using very well developed machinery, this young man sharpens knives and scissors for a living. I wonder how much he would make by just sharpening the knives and scissors...

In Ireland these are referred to as Parer or Topper. Cool names. This little jewel was my grandfather's and still gets use at my house. ;~)
My belated birthday gift from my mom came in !! Now that I have Bride of Valentine, hopefully I can get the original Posey & Sadie sharpeners one day.
I have tried several patent knife sharpeners … none are particularly good.

A friend gave me this Victorinox knife sharpener which is just what I need :)
The pack needs opening so what else would I use to do the job?
The big one is a Novelty AM Radio, that works with batteries. The little one is a vintage wind up toy made in Japan. The disc really spins.
Just found these 5 pencil sharpeners, prefect for my miniature scene.
They just need some extra-care for the removal of surface rust....
And some of those are marked "Made in Hong Kong", so I think they're probably from 60's or 70's....

Here is a person who earns a living by sharpening knives.
He actually had finished his work and was packing up when I asked him to sharpen my ware, (scissors and knives) and he readily obliged. He even gave me some handy tips as to how to use the knife when in the kitchen. He demonstrated how to "keep" a knife when not in use.
(psst: he was worried that his white stubble may not look good in the pic)
Do you have sharpener?
