Christine has, to date, been the most animated of my subjects. During the course of the shoot, she managed to bounce, grinning, into every corner of the frame.

Her gesticulating peaked when we discussed how badass the Salmon Shark is. For as long as I can remember, Christine has been a rabid fan of Discovery's Shark Week and of sharks in general. I knew as soon as sharks came up, I'd get the photo I was looking for.

She's planning a shark themed wedding for herself, with shark breeds replacing table numbers. How cool is that? I want to sit at the hammerhead table.

Behold the shark balloon on the Discovery Channel building. National Geographic really needs to do something like this seeing as D.C. is our major competitor.

Me getting ready for Shark Week on Discovery Channel!

The Journal For a Cause Challenge was to use a single image--like a photo booth picture--over and over altering it with pen and ink.

This is not a style which appeals to me. Different strokes for different folks. It was really hard for me to get inspired.

Finally, I remembered Shark Week starts next week and you know how much I love sharks.

5 teams of middle school students showed off what they know about sharks during this friendly “Jeopardy”-style game. We took our questions from the Top 100 Shark Facts on the Shark Week page at discovery.com and the 30 competitors had really studied as it was a close game with lots of knowledge shared and learned about sharks.
