Carolina wrens are small but very vocal animals. Males are especially outgoing and are the only ones to produce songs. They employ one of the loudest songs per volume of birds. They are apt to sing anytime and anyplace they happen to be.

Carolina wrens are monogamous, and breeding pairs may stay together for years.

Here's a male Polar Bear shaking itself dry after emerging from a swim. It wasn't even fully out before it enjoyed a vigorous shake, just like a wet dog. This was taken at Bjornsund on Spitsbergen.

I had already used the Beatles' Twist and Shout for the title of a similar shot

After diving for fish, emerges from water and shakes plumage vigorously by twisting body in flight, head to tail; distinctive behavior.

I just love capturing the water shake-off Terns do after they dive for a fish.

Notice the position of the head in relation to the wings. Terns shake, rattle, & roll to rid their bodies of the water.

This action reminds me of a song by Big Joe Turner, who is such an important artist that some say would that Rock 'n Roll would never have never happened without him!

3rd August 2019- David of Manchester based 'Bones Shake' brought "A scuzzed fuzzed blues" vibe to Jimmy's in Liverpool. These lads were first on by virtue of the least social media 'Likes' (a strange stipulation in my eyes, but then, i'm 48..) but they manged to captivate an early audience. Starting your set by casually wandering through the crowd with a megaphone blarring an American Police siren generally tends to grab peoples attention!!

After diving, Terns shake the water off their heads. This is one of my favorite shots to capture.

A momma and her two chicks take me in as I photograph them from the bank. I love the head shake going on here. The chicks are probably a day or two old. Dad is just behind and equally vigilant. Plus another pair of geese, without goslings, swam in between them and me - guards!

One Muscovy Duck baby is practicing how to shake off his wet feathers after they all took a brief dip in the lake.

We had around 24 cans of diet coke in the top of the fridge when the devastating 6.1 earthquake hit Christchurch in New Zealand. The shaking caused one of the front feet of the fridge to fold, which made the fridge tip forward and causing the door to open. After all the shaking the cans had already when they flew out and hit the ground a lot of them exploded. These two cans show the explosive pressure that occurred best.
