The winter morning shadows in Richfield County Park highlight the efforts of the WPA development here in the late 1930s, such as infrastructure (the "highway" bridge shown), tree planting ,etc.
Sunshine on the fence from the top level of the carpark making shadows on the scaffolding below on the construction site next door.
I liked this in black and white.
The Canon 5D classic is still a wonderful camera to use even though it's over 20 years old. In the right conditions, it can still produce beautiful images. They are so cheap to buy these days, I'd highly recommend picking one up if you have the chance.

Just trying to shoot something a bit more playful with Will, and I immediately notice the shadow!
This afternoon I found the most amazing contrail shadow I’ve ever seen. The contrail just crossed the sun in the west and its shadow went across the sky from west to east. It looked that the airplane tracing its own contrail shadow towards the horizon.

Sun begins to set on the Grand Canyon covering all but the nearest part of the mighty Colorado in shadow. The Vermillion Cliffs stand tall in the distant background making sure to catch the last rays.

Photography profited at a Getty exhibition of Greek bronzes. So I photographed the shadows of the statues
This was taken the same day as the facing the fears one was done and we had come through the Washington National Forest out into the Cowpasture Valley in the beautiful (and favorite of ours) Highland County. The sun was so strong that day that it was making beautiful strong shadows and areas of light and dark. I don't know the name of this mill or anything else about it unfortunately.
