Upset with never being in the limelight, my shadow pulls a traditional Sicilian gesture at me. Stupid thing.
Taken from the balcony at the Metropole Hotel - photographing these lengthening shadows was entirely hypnotic.
People walking from the East were dragging their shadows, whilst those walking from the West were pushing them forward ... as I said ... hypnotic!
From the TMA exhibit Between Light and Shadow, by Anila Quayyum Agha, this portion of the show is entitled The Greys in Between.
The Spring Hill Reservoirs or Service Reservoirs are two underground water storage facilities located by the Old Windmill in Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. They serviced water to what is now Brisbane City until 1962 and remain heritage-listed.[1] Currently, the reservoirs are covered by three hut-like structures above ground, all of which remain locked. The Jacaranda shadows are on the roof covering one of the reservoirs. There are three hut-like rooves in the Wickham Park.

The arrangement of lines because of the shadow was very intriguing.
Gave a brown tinge and increased the contrast to show the strong shadows.

Listen - There is a sound beyond every sound, and there is a face almost glimpsed, like a friends, when shadows move.

And shadows we shall be,
Shadows we shall stay
Until we see what it is that
made us hopelessly blind to the things to be.
Remembering that which was,
that which will be
Shadows we shall no longer be.
Random poem that came to mind when looking at this picture.
So, I don't have much to say other then I took this this last weekend and just in time for my camera to stop working. I'm fortunate to have a friend who is willing to let me borrow her camera until I get a new one, which will be at least a month maybe two.

WIT: in post-processing, a little straightening, but have to allow for the fence slope upward to the right; lowering of exposure, darkening of shadows and increased contrast
Shadow is a 3 month old cocker spaniel that was previously owned by a breeder. Poor little Shadow broke his leg - a very serious break -and the breeder did have not the financial means to have the leg repaired. - either putting him to sleep or amputing his leg were the options the breeder was considering. So, thankfully the breeder contacted Atlanta Pet Rescue and little Shadow is having his surgery today, which will cost about $1700.. This image and two others were taken for the website. Please visit www.atlantapetrescue.org to see the wonderful pets currently available for adoption.
