The American Redstart (Setophaga ruticilla) is a warbler that inhabits secondary-growth forests. The male's colours match those of the Baltimore Oriole - black and orange with some white, whereas the female's colours are more subdued. Nevertheless, I love the subtle yellows of her shoulder and chest regions.
She was photographed at Magee Marsh in northwest Ohio in May 2012.

This latest article looks at what is currently done to conserve and manage water and what could be done using Nature’s method to manage and conserve this vital resource.
