The secondary box for the system, you can have up to four of these connected to the main Silver box. It's basically a "dumb" box - no satellite tuners, no hard drive, just a network connection to the main box. They're also limited to only 1080p output. Not 4K.
Currently, the Q system is limited to only having two Mini boxes working at the same time (despite allowing four in the same house). However, if you use the box to its fullest, this does mean you can be watching different channels on three different TVs, plus two tablets, plus record four things *at the same time*. Not bad.

We've been praising how easy the Foxtel iQ2 is to use and how convenient it is to be able to record shows to watch when we are free, rather than watch the crap that is on.
Then suddenly last week, the iQ2 starts dying. Some scheduled recordings fail for no apparent reason. All it said was "error code 40".
When I call tech support, all I got was "oh, error 40, we need to wipe it". Wipe. As in totally clear out all the settings and recorded shows. Wow. No diagnostics and repairing it, just wipe it. When I pressed her for the meaning of "error code 40", all I got was that the harddrive might have developed faults and needs to be wiped.
Um... faults? Wiping won't fix faults! Why don't they include some tools to scan the harddrive for errors? At least you know what is going on.
That's the problem with consumer electronics these days. They are just black boxes.
I wonder if I can remove the harddrive and and fsck it or something? No chatter nor solutions on the web either...
La set-top box Walawa qui permet de surfer sur internet depuis la télévision (ça date de 2001).
Il y a une télécommande + un clavier IR, cette version est RTC mais ça existait en ADSL. La version commercialisée était intégrée dans la télé. RIP.

The "heart" of the Sky Q system - this is the main box that feeds the Sky Q Mini boxes and any tablets in the house.
It has:
• Twelve tuners - when the system is installed, they also change the LNB on the satellite dish to a new one, which will work with both Sky Q and older systems like Sky+HD or Freesat - this is also why installation is required, you can't just swap an old Sky+HD box with a Sky Q box.
• 1080p now, Ultra HD (4K) later - Sky's Ultra HD service is being launched in Summer/Autumn this year, at which time they'll upgrade the box from HDMI 1.4 to HDMI 2.0 w/ HDCP 2.2.
• HDMI input jack for "future use".
• 2TB HDD - shared among the entire household, including the Sky Q Mini boxes. Not ideal as it's not a lot of space if you have lots of people recording things, but it does mean you can watch anything anywhere in the house.
• Completely new UI.
