Set, god of chaos, brother and murderer of Osiris and Lord of Upper Egypt. Seen here as part of a sculptural group depicting Ramesses III between Horus & Set. The sculpture is much restored, but refreshing to see the unique features of a god who was feared and often avoided in art. His head is sometimes identified as that of an aardvark, but is otherwise known as the 'Typhonian Beast' (owing to the equation of Set, the antagonist of Osiris and Horus, with the classical monster Typhon, antagonist of the Greek gods).

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo contains the World's greatest collection of Ancient Egyptian antiquities, covering all periods of Egypt's rich history from the Pre-Dynastic, Old, Middle & New Kingdoms all the way to the Greco-Roman era.
The star exhibit has for the best part of a century been the treasure's of Tutankhamun's tomb (discovered in 1922) which occupy two whole galleries on the upper floor. However this arrangement will soon change as the entire Tutankhamun collection (along with several other important pieces) will be transferred to the new Grand Egyptian Museum currently being prepared in Giza. A few pieces (that I recalled from our previous visit in 1995) had already been moved, and by now doubtless others will have followed, with plans for a partial opening of the new museum with its purpose-designed Tutankhamun galleries scheduled for late 2018.

After getting lost a number of times, I finally found a way down here. It's one of the most beautiful beaches in Malta, although unfortunately, some rubbish still found it's way on the pebbles. I was quite surprised to find a layer of blue clay just below sea level (first time I had seen such a thing). To confirm my suspicions, I ended up touching it to believe it.

The Stranglers headlined the Glasgow Bandstand in Kelvingrove on Saturday night along with DC Ruts. While the Paisley / Glasgow band the Vanities, who won a battle of the bands and the right to open the Stranglers event.
And though the evening turned cloudy with a heavy spell of rain during the DC Ruts set and set members of the audience clambering for their brollies and waterproofs. Though there was no way this heavy down pour was going to spoil what turned out to be cracking night and what was an excellent DC Ruts set.
The Vanities line up where Alan Hannah on vocal, guitar and harmonica along with Josh Carmichael on drums, Robin Brown on Guitar and vocal with Lewis Blakeman on Bass. Of whom where over the moon they had the chance of performing with legendary stranglers whose set was just as amazing as the rest along with the banter the band had with the fan.
Though after the show I never managed to snap a shot of the band along with Jean-Jacques Burnel of the Stranglers and who the band where hoping to get up close and person with. They did manage themselves and no doubt this only added to what was a great night out in Kelvingrove for all.

My one and only piece of set dressing for the Star Destroyer bridge. Really adds a touch of authenticity!
Tea set, six pieces,( pot with removable,keyed lid, sugar canister with removable lid, sugar spoon, and milk jug), all made of red-brass and sterling silver (gauge 18), with pot handle made of laminate of plexiglas and red brass. The pot capacity is approx. 6 cups while the sugar canister and milk pitcher are about one cup capacity each. These pieces were designed and made in 1983 in Ferrini's home studio in Newton, MA. They were made to fulfill a commission for the permanent collection of the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA.
There is a similar, but not identical, six piece tea set ( #1)made in 1981 as a studio piece). It was brought to Australia for a show and lecture and married-metals workshp Ferrini gave for JAMGA, Jewelry and Metals Guild of Australasia. The set was subsequently purchased in 1981 by the outstanding Australian architect Glenn Murcutt. Murcutt, a good friend of the Ferrinis, was particularly pleased with the striped effect of the set which complements the light patterns of the light-modifying functional louvers featured in much of his architecture.

This is my first levitation and I don't think it's too shabby (: This song has described me perfectly for the past two years of my life and is the inspiration for this.
What I love so much about shooting is that you have an idea in your head and when you try to make it come to life, it doesn't always work out. Yet somehow you come up with something equally or even more amazing than what you originally thought of, even though it usually comes out very different.
