On November 2nd, somewhereto_ went to the National Citizen Service awards to meet some of the amazing young people from across the UK.

 

The event, which took place at the Bernie Grant centre in north London, celebrates the achievements of young people.

Making a Community Impact Through Service — the University of Saint Mary educates students who go on to make an impact on their world, and with that in mind we kicked off the 2014-2015 school year with our annual service day Aug. 18.

 

Students cleaned up Leavenworth parks and waterways, prepared food, cleaned buildings and prepped for paint, and much more!

Incoming service members and civilians to Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington receive a newcomer’s tour of Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C., and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, JBM-HH, Va., on Aug. 30, 2017. Prior to the tour service members participated in physical fitness training together. Was connected with the London, Midland and Scottish Railway during the whole of his professional career. After serving his apprenticeship at Derby from 1921 to 1926, he became a fitter, but two years later he was transferred to the inspection department.

 

In 1930 he entered the works drawing office where he remained for a similar period. His next position, which he held for seven years was that of central ordering assistant. In 1939 he was gazetted to the R.A.O.C., and rose to the rank of Major.

 

He saw service abroad, being mentioned in dispatches in 1945 while serving with the R.E.M.E.

 

Major Mallalieu was elected a Graduate of the Institution in 1930 and was transferred to Associate Membership in 1938.

Mayor's Day of Recognition for National Service

March 14, 2016 - I boarded the Boston Old Town Trolley Hop on Hop Off tour at Stop 3 which is the Charleston Navy Yard. Since I didn't buy a ticket in advance I am heading to the Faneuil Hall stop to buy my all day ticket at the ticket booth at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The ticket includes a Boston Harbor Cruise.
