This is where I spent most of my time during the trip, relaxing on Corey and Beth's back deck overlooking Olympic Bay.

The first night I was there we saw something splashing around in the distance. They said that they've seen killer whales (orcas) in there from time to time, and seals. I did catch a glimpse of a bald eagle during my stay. There were also plenty of hummingbirds in the daytime and bats at night.

More wildlife was underfoot, too: voles (which the cat would catch, present as a gift to us, and would subsequently be fed to the chickens), toads, and alligator lizards, all of which I found nearby. Corey came across a legless lizard one day, too, and he says they've also seen garter snakes and rough skinned newts.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see it because it happened while we were in Seattle, but Beth told us that due to some solar storms, they were treated to aurora borealis.

Their town, Sequim (pronounced "squim," the locals don't include the "e") is very nice, with some excellent restaurants. And lavendar. Lots and lots of lavendar.
