Sequim K12 is an adult female Southern Resident orca estimated to have been born in 1972. Photo taken from shore on San Juan Island.
Sequim, WA (Clallam County)
Sequim lies within the rainshadow of the Olympic Mountains and receives on average less than 16 inches (410 mm) of rain per year—about the same as Los Angeles, California—and has given itself the nickname of Sunny Sequim. Yet the city is fairly close to some of the wettest temperate rainforests of the contiguous United States. This climate anomaly is sometimes called the blue hole of Sequim. (1)

I took this photo on May 16th. I was out firing up my smoker at 4:45am and I heard an Eagle calling. It was on my neighbor's
house across the street with a roadkill Possum that was probably from West Sequim Bay Rd, which is a block away from my house. Kind of gnarly but clearly shows the scavenger side of the Bald Eagle.
