These tails were cut open, taken apart, and painted black. Then the LED signal circuit boards were completely stripped down, modified, and wired back up with a 13 channel Sequential micro controller to fire one LED at a time, stacking style. The reverse lights have been upgraded to Plasma White LED bulbs.
This set is 100% Street legal, with all needed reflectors, and no tint covering the LEDs, which means full power output. Painted internals are the answer if you're concerned with getting tickets for having dark tails!
I found it rather amazing that these two sequentially numbered hopper cars (51006-51007) which came off the assembly line in the early 90's side-by-side, found themselves back coupler-to-coupler, 20 years later. Brownbery Siding, Oconomowoc, WI. May 28th, 2013
We removed the inner lenses on this set, and packed in some awesome upgrades! The Turn Signals are now Sequential, with the stock reverse light housing changed to hold an Amber 194 bulb to fall in line with the sequential LEDs. The upper original Signal housing was upgraded to a very bright Cree LED Reverse Light.
These tails have no internal lenses (removed), with all sequential LEDs exposed, which produces a brighter signal. All chrome has been painted Satin Black.

Taken during February 1974. Sequential evidence suggests that the date was Wednesday 24th. The Bentos annals record that I overslept the alarum-clock and didn't wake up until 3.55am. Yes, if you're a bus conductor 3.55 may qualify as a lie-in. Too late for the staff bus to take me to Lawrence Hill Depot for the start of my rostered duty, that was for sure. To cut a long story short I "dipped", which in the elaborate dialect of the Bristol Omnibus Co. meant that I failed to show up for work. Now. I must admit that, in the early years of my working life, I was not always punctilious about matters of attendance and reliability. It's just that youth and responsibility make uneasy bedfellows. But I wouldn't want you to get the wrong impression. My early insouciance about such matters soon passed and I hope I may claim that, since then, I have been a conscientious and reliable employee.
The trouble, on this occasion, was that I still lived with my parents. They would have disapproved of an unauthorised absence from work just as much as truancy from school. I was now a grown adult and it was my own business, but, but ...well, you know how parents are. So I decided to vacate the house as if I'd left for work and sneak back a few hours later after they'd both left for their own jobs. I'd have the house to myself ...always, in those days, a luxury. While I was waiting for them to vacate the house I'd just go for a stroll around the deserted early morning streets ...quite a favourite occupation of mine. The coast wouldn't be clear until after 7 o'clock, giving me enough time for quite a lengthy constitutional. From Downend I walked into the city as far as Warwick Road, then turned up Mina Road and took to the footpath behind St Werburgh's Church. As locals will know, this brings you out on a hilltop, looking down over the railway lines and gasworks, to the huddled roofs of Eastville. Here I squeezed through the fence and, as the early trains clattered below and the sky began to turn grey, I entertained myself by doing hand-stands on the grass.
Ah, what it is to be young ...though I would add that the advantages of age are underappreciated. I covered the last mile back to the house at a cracking 5mph and arrived punctually at ten past seven, taking care not to approach from the direction in which my parents left to catch their buses. The house was empty. Coming up the pavement at the side of the house I plunged my hand into my right trouser pocket. My key was not there. I tried the other pocket, then tried both again. I had left my keys indoors. I was locked out ...and we'd just fitted burglar-proof locks on the windows! Served me damn well right, I suppose. I couldn't get back in until my mother got home at 3.30pm!
This must have been taken in the evening, in the harsh glare of the ceiling light in my bedroom. On the wall behind me is Geographia's map of Bristol. I used it for plotting the distribution of butterflies I had seen. The pock-mark on my cheek, the souvenir of an attack of chicken-pox when I was two, is now used by Mrs B as a kind of homing device when she kisses me on the cheek.

When the Turn Signals are activated, the white LEDs shut off, and the Sequence for the Amber Power LEDs begins. This customer also opted for retaining the use of the original turn signal location with upgrade Power LED 7440 bulbs, for added output. The side markers also got a pair of Amber LED bulbs, as did the tail lights and License Plate lights.
To give a really unique look to the tails, and provide something special to match the moving signals in the headlights, a pair of "Brakes as Signals" modules from Diode Dynamics were installed, which make the OEM LED brake lights flash instead of an incandescent Amber Bulb. The stock bulb was replaced with the Red Power LED 7440 set from exLED, and this combination provides some really cool action depending on driver input. If the turn signals are activated by themselves, both the inner and outer circle will flash at the same time. If the brakes are applied, the inner and outer circles will alternate back and forth.

The white knobs really 'pop' visually off the panel. Matter of opinion as to whether the knob position is more visible than the 'white indicator on black' of the stock P600?

6180. Another sequential image - that is, it is very similar to one taken at the same ime, and which we've shown earlier, HMAS VOYAGER [I] was from the generation of destroyers that replaced the 'S' and 'T' Class shown in preceding images.
Of course they were to become famous as the Scrap Iron Flotiulla in the Mediterranean, but - already aging - were pretty much worn out by this service. And VOYAGER [I], as is well known, was lost in late September 1942, grounded at Betano Bay on a mission into Japanese Occupied Timor.
